Two Indian citizens were accused in the Singapore district court on Monday after they allegedly wore pieces of clothing to tie the extremities of a woman in a hotel room and steal it.
Arokkiyasami Daison, 22 years old and Rajendran Mayilarasan, 28, received a robbery charge, and were also ordered to be referred to the Central Police Division.
The two men were in a room at the Amrise Hotel Kitchener in Jalan Kissing shortly before 7 pm on April 26 when they allegedly tied their hands and legs of the 38 -year -old woman, The Straits Times reported.
They are also accused of slapping their face before making articles, including their passport, bank cards and SGD2,000 in cash.
The police said in a previous statement that the officers were alerted to the case around 9 pm of April 26.
With the help of police chambers and CCTV images, the officers of the Central Police Division managed to establish the identities of the men and arrested the couple within four hours after the report.
All women’s belongings were recovered, said a police spokesman.
For committing robbery, a criminal can be imprisoned for between five and 20 years, and receive at least 12 cane blows.
