Los Angeles:
An earthquake of strong and superficial magnitude arrived in southern California on Monday, American geologists said.
The tremor focused on 2.5 miles (four kilometers) south of Julian, which is about 20 miles from the United States border with Mexico, and had eight miles deep, according to data from the United States geological service.
The initial earthquake was followed by a series of smaller replicas.
There were no immediate damage reports.
The West Coast of the United States is the confluence of several of the earth’s tectonic plates, and the tremors are not uncommon.
The southern California has been beaten by several important earthquakes, including a 1994 earthquake that hit Northridge, in the Los Angeles area, killing dozens of people and hurting thousands more.
It also caused billions of dollars of households and infrastructure damage.
It is believed that San Francisco’s earthquake in 1906, which also caused a tsunami, killed more than 3,000 people, some of whom died in fires that exploded after the powerful tremor
