Tesla owners can activate a safety measure in their vehicles called “Sentry mode”, which can help dissuade or even burst as a result of generalized vandalism aimed at the Elon Musk Electric Automobile Company.
The Sentinel mode, when enabled, keeps the cameras and sensors of the vehicle on and ready to record suspicious activities that occur nearby.
“Think of Sentry mode as a smart vehicle safety system that alerts it when it detects possible nearby threats,” according to the Tesla Model 3 Owner Manual.
Tesla vehicles with subry mode activated will press the front headlights, release the alarm and show a message on the touch screen saying that the cameras can be recording as a warning for those outside the vehicle if a threat is detected or if their sensors choose “Jerky Movement” as being towed or agitated.

The Sentry mode also sends the vehicle owner an alert in the Tesla mobile application and keeps images of the event to a USB unit, if installed in the vehicle.
Tesla Security has been highlighted after the national incidents directed by electric vehicles, concessionaires, storage lots and cargo stations in Musk’s protest, whom President Donald Trump took the opportunity to lead the Government Efficiency Department (Doge). Doge had the task of trimming the wasteful federal expenditure and has fired tens of thousands of federal employees as part of their cuts.

Since January 2025, Tesla electric vehicles have been attacked in at least nine states, according to the FBI, which says that the incidents involved would set fire to causes caused, shots and vandalism, including graffiti that express complaints against those who perpetrators perceive as racists, fascists or political opponents.

Tesla says that while Sentry mode can help deter some threats, it should not be trusted to protect vehicles from all possible security threats, and added that “no security system can avoid all attacks.”

The Sentry mode, which is disabled by default, can be activated in several ways.
The owners can activate the safety measure using the tactile car screen entering the control panel and safety subsection. It can also be activated using the Tesla application or using the voice command, “keep Tesla safe.”

The Tesla vehicle must be parked and blocked to activate and remain above 20% battery duration to remain active.
