Representative Jamie Raskin (D-MD) has been fighting to protect US democracy for years. Raskin spoke after Trump’s call to the accusation of federal judges who govern him.
Raskin said in a statement:
Donald Trump is losing and losing badly every day in court. He is losing in front of Bush’s judges and judges Biden, Obama’s judges and Reagan judges. Trump is even losing to the judges who he appointed the bank in his first term.
Drowning in these humiliating legal defeats, but refusing to accept that we are still a nation of laws and not real edicts, Trump is now attacking against the judges who have been defending the constitution against their illegality.
Trump is actually asking the judges to oppose themselves.
He is not asking for the accusation of any judges who have governed in his favor. Then his rule is clear: either the rule in favor of Trump or face the accusation.
We have accused only 15 federal judges in the history of our country, always for professional misconduct, such as poisoning consisting of the bank, conspiracy to take bribes, evasion of income and perjury tax.
