Doha:
The group of Palestinian operators Hamas warned Wednesday that hostages can be killed if Israel tries to recover them by force and air attacks continue in the Gaza Strip.
The group said in a statement that it was “doing everything possible to keep the captives of the occupation alive, but the random sionist bombardment (Israeli) is endangering their lives.”
“Every time the occupation tries to recover its captives by force, it ends up bringing them in coffins,” he said.
Israel restarted intense air attacks through the densely populated Gaza strip last week, followed by land operations, breaking the relative calm offered by a high January fire with Hamas.
Since Israel resumed its military operations in Gaza, at least 830 Palestinians have been killed, according to the Ministry of Health in the territory directed by Hamas.
The war was caused by the attack of the group of operators of October 7, 2023 against Israel, which resulted in the death of 1,218 people, mostly civilians, according to an AFP count based on official figures.
The military offensive of retaliation of Israel has killed at least 50,183 people in Gaza, mostly civilians, according to the Ministry of Health.
