Kansas has joined almost 20 other US states to inform cases of measles to the increase.
The Department of Health and Environment of Kansas (KDHE) reported 10 measles cases in Grant, Morton and Stevens counties as of March 21.
The 10 cases were identified in children from 0 to 17 years.
Nine of these children were not vaccinated.

An individual was confirmed as underaccinated, since he only received one of the two doses of the MMR vaccine.
No hospitalizations or deaths have been reported in the state.

Kdhe said that additional cases are likely in the outbreak and surrounding counties because measles is “highly contagious”, especially for those who are not vaccinated.
Measles infections have continued to spread throughout the United States, since the CDC marked 378 total cases in 2025 on March 21.
The numbers are still rising in western Texas, where the largest sprout currently has 327 cases confirmed to March 25.

Most cases throughout the country have occurred in school -age children who are not vaccinated.
Kdhe advised medical care suppliers who are looking for patients with “febrile eruption disease” and other measles symptoms, including fever, cough, nasal secretion, red, aqueous eyes and an eruption in the face and body.

Health professionals should also be on “maximum alert” for patients who have recently traveled internationally, or in places in the US. Where the outbreaks have occurred, they have frequent contact with uncompared individuals or are not vaccinated.
Kdhe instructed patients suspicious and infected to be isolated at home for four days after the start of a measles eruption.

“People who are susceptible to measles and exposed should be excluded from working in an adult care home, a correctional center or a medical care center and attending or working in a school, child care facilities or adult nursery for 21 days after the last exhibition,” said the Department of Health.

To prevent measles, KDHE recommends two doses of the measles vaccine, papers and rubella (MMR) for adults and children, especially for residents of the affected counties.
In a recent interview in the camera with Fox News Digital in New York City, Dr. John Whyte, medical director of Webmd and doctor in exercise, emphasized that measles is “one of the most contagious respiratory viruses.”

“Measles is much more contagious than Covid,” he said. “It is a factor of several times more contagious.”
An infected person can impact between 10 and 15 people, according to Whyte.

There are multiple ways to protect themselves from infection, the doctor said, even being aware of their surroundings and using a mask in areas where cases have been detected.
Whyte also recommended “good handwashing” after touching the surfaces, as well as keeping the surfaces clean, since virus drops can stick and spread when the contact is made.
