The final Four is still days away, but College Ball does not rest. They are the quarterfinals of the University Basketball Crown in Las Vegas, now from 16 teams to eight in this unique elimination tournament. While winning is the best for players, some of them are happy that they can extend their season.
“It was difficult not to make the tournament, knowing that we had been there in the last three years, and it has been a great experience,” said Boise State’s power forward, Tyson Degenhart.

“This is how life goes, you can’t always get what you want,” said Degenhart.

Boise State is one of the 16 schools that play in the opening year of the University Basketball Crown.
“I think it is a good time for this tournament. There is not much other basketball, university basketball, Final Four is this weekend, but these games are when no one else is on put, so we are the only university basketball and have NBA explorers there is great, just looking towards my future and really really excited,” Degiert said.

More than anything, this tournament gives teams another opportunity to prolong their season.
“We are trying to milked the season, to keep these boys the longest time we can, because this team loves, he loves to play with each other, he loves to practice together. That is the driving force,” said the men’s basketball coach of Boise State, Leon Rice.

That feeling also echos other teams.
“We are very happy to continue our season and compete for a championship. You really do not get those possibilities in life very often. We have been very lucky. We have not had a player who has entered the portal at this time. We will see what happens after this season, but I think the character of our boys, that we want to continue and play together,” said Nebraska Basketball coach Men, Fred Hiberg.

The tournament has also invited the major league representatives to look at all the talent on the court.
“I think it is a really great opportunity every time you leave and compete in front of people, and people who make decisions for the next level, so it is important that our group take advantage of that and be the best we can,” said Nebraska striker, Cale Jacobsen.
Older people represent almost half of the lists for some of these schools, which means that, for some teams, this tournament is the last time they will play together.

“You know, these last two weeks they prepare, it is a long time not to play a game, but it did not feel monotonous with our group just because everyone enjoy being in the gym and being together. We are only playing hard for each other so we can continue together,” Jacobsen said.
