Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (hereinafter, called “Murata”) received a high evaluation for the dissemination of information made through our Murata Value Report (Integrated Report), which led us to present the Prize for Excellence in the Fourth Annual Report of Nikkei Integrated Ators. Nikkei Integrated Report Awards.
We have been publishing the Murata Value Report since 2018 with the purpose of having a constructive dialogue with our interested parties. This report effectively communicates our efforts to improve our corporate values in the medium and long term and share our history of value creation.
For the 2024 edition of the Murate Value Report, we focus the explanations on the next three points, and reduce the number of pages compared to the previous year, with the aim of turning it into a more useful communication tool that deepens the understanding of the creation of sustainable value of Murata and points to a co-creation of value co-creation.
- Clearly communicate the state of initiatives and problems that must be addressed regarding the management of the 3 -layer portfolio, which is in the center of our growth strategy.
- Improve the dissemination related to the various forms of management capital that are the sources of value creation, and highlight the ability of Murata to execute strategies.
- Organize the structure of the page and the section to improve the link with our other means and help readers systematically understand the history of Murata value creation.
In addition, our messages from management, such as the “message of the president”, were also highly qualified, and the judges specifically indicate: “The report clearly describes how management practices are based on the company’s philosophy, interspersed with examples of the past.” “The report succinctly summarizes the company’s vision by 2030, its deficiencies in capital terms and its priority initiatives, all backed by a clear understanding of management resources.” “The discussion with external directors reveals the effectiveness of the company’s governance, and the content of the discussion helps readers to obtain a deeper understanding of the company’s problems.”
In the future, we will continue to openly disseminate the information so that our interested parties can better understand our initiatives and with the aim of improving the corporate values of Murata through the creation of value through constructive dialogue with the interested parties.

What are the Nikkei Integrated Report Awards?
Nikkei, Inc. has been celebrating the Nikkei Annual Report Awards since 1998, with the aim of further improving the annual reports published by Japanese companies. In recent years, these reports have evolved and expanded to include non -financial information such as ESG and explanations of corporate values, and these new “integrated reports” are attracting considerable attention. In response to this, the awards were renowned to the Nikkei Integrated Report Awards in 2021, the evaluation criteria were made of several layers and expanded, and the awards categories were reorganized and expanded. A record of 496 companies and organizations entered the awards this year, with three companies that received the Grand Prix, one receiving the prize of the Gran Prize E, two receiving the prize of the Grand Prize, one receiving the Grand Prix G award, six that receive the second prize, one receives the award of the newly Loycopero and 46 receiving the Prize for Excellence.
