According to the Department of Health and Human Services, a second child with measles in Texas, although the exact cause of death at this time is unknown.
HHS secretary, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., plans to attend the child’s funeral on Sunday, a spokesman told NBC News.
The children’s couple and an adult in New Mexico who also believed that he died of measles are the first deaths reported in relation to the disease in the country in a decade.

Since January, 481 measles cases have been confirmed only in Texas, according to the Department of Health Services of the State of Texas.
That total includes six babies and young children in a nursery center in Lubbock that tested positive in the last two weeks, according to NBC News. Two of these children are among 56 people who have been hospitalized with measles in the area since the disease began to spread in January.
