Samsung has updated Smartthings, its application that allows users to control the company’s IoT devices, with new home automation capabilities in an apparent offer to sell more of its intelligent devices and appliances to existing customers.
In addition to automation functions, users will obtain new integrations with the Samsung Health application, an intercom function and support for more devices through the SMART Smart Smart Home Connectivity connectivity standard.
The “routine” function of the application, such as Apple and IFTT shorts, this is essentially a basic conditional programming interface without code that can activate tasks, has been updated to enable a good amount of home automation.
Users can now establish routines to repeat each week, every month or every year, and the integration of smartthings with the health application and the new SAMSUNG 2025 TV models now allow you to configure automation, such as making the lights go out automatically when you lie down or that the TV starts in a specific channel in the morning.
Smartthings can now also connect with Samsung Health to send sleep reports on galaxy devices that provide metrics such as temperature, moisture, co2 levels and lighting intensity. This sleep monitoring is also related to routine function.
The application can now also remove voice messages to speakers connected to smartthings at home. In particular, Samsung is very late to bring this function to its ecosystem, since the Amazon Echo devices has been able to do this since 2017, and Apple introduced a similar characteristic for Homepods in 2020.
