The new Bungie Shooter Marathon was the focus of a live event today in which the company shared a lot of new information about it, including a release date. Marathon will be launched on September 23, which is the same day that the long -awaited Borderlands 4 of Gearbox arrives. GTA 6 is expected to continue shortly after, potentially in October.

Marathon, who is a successor to the Bungie game in 1994 of the same name, is directed to PS5, Xbox Series X | S and PC through Steam. The game admits the cross game and cross saves for all platforms.

Also during today’s live event, Bungie announced that a closed alpha test for Marathon will begin in April, as it is recorded in the Alpha Marathon closed.

Bungie exhibited the first Alpha Marathon images during today’s live broadcast.

The game takes place in the world of Tau Ceti IV. The players assume the role of a “corridor”, described as a cyber mercenary that is looking for “fortune and power” in the world. Playing in groups of three, the players will face other groups of runners, along with enemies of AI. The objective, as in other extraction games, is to survive with deleted materials and security extract, and then do everything again.

Corridors can be customized with different weapons, equipment and “implants” that increase the way they play. The teams must work together strategically to gather their squads for the best opportunity for success.

As part of its seasonal map of season 1, Marathon will have final game challenges, classified game, seasonal narration, community events and more, Bungie said.

Bungie also revealed a short marathon written and directed by Alberto Honey (Tron: Uprising, Love, Death & Robots). The cast in the short film includes Erica Lindbeck as Glitch, Elias Toufexis such as Void, Nika Futterman as Blackbird, Donnla Hughes as Oni and Ben Starr as narrator.
