After an official revelation at Star Wars Celebration Japan, new details on Star Wars have been revealed: Zero Company. One of the interesting things of the game is its stage, since Zero Company events will take place during the clone wars. While the galactic civil war has been explored in detail, Zero Company will focus on the hidden stories of that conflict and the undercover operations that took place. Thematically, the game is based on Star Wars stories as the animated series of Clone Wars, Rogue One, and his series of prequel Andor, as well as classic films of World War II as the dozen Dirty.
“Clone Wars offers us many of the tools we mechanically need for the game, which is great,” explained the creative director of Bit Reactor, Greg Foertsch, in an interview with Gamespot. “But it is also interesting, we have not seen that type of zoom in the clone wars, so it is a rather unique place to land that also offered us many excellent options from a game design perspective, to tell a great story with a great aggregate mechanics. That really opened the door to do many things.”
The producer of the Lucasfilm Games, Orion Kellogg, and the content and strategy strategy of the Lucasfilm franchise, the creative executive of the strategy, Kelsey Sharpe, added that the era of clones wars allowed “all kinds of places in that area” where original stories could be told. The nuanced narration of Clone Wars was a great influence in Zero Company, along with the atmosphere of boots on the field of Rogue One. Movies like Dirty Dozen also inspired the idea of how the Zero company squad is joined, but as Sharpe said, the first Star Wars movie is still the guide light for the game.
“Even if you have a more punished tone and you are getting into the shadows of the gray of the clone wars, there is always hope,” Sharpe said. “There are always ties among their allies, there is always the footprint.
Star Wars: Zero Company will be launched for the PC, PS5 and Xbox X series | S in 2026.
