Continental Group Automotive Sector presented its future name in Auto Shanghai. The independent automotive company will be called Amovio. The name of the new company combines the strong market position, heritage and technological experience in the automotive industry with the ambition to shape the mobility of the future with innovations. AMOVIO will offer advanced electronic products and mobility solutions for the vehicle defined by safe, exciting, connected and autonomous mobility to a wide range of global customers. According to a Berylls market analysis, Automotive hopes that the value of vehicle solutions in these segments will grow in an average annual until 2029, and more dynamically than the number of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles produced throughout the world (based on the market prognosis by the global mobility of S&P). In the Shanghai car this year, the group sector also presented its approach “in the market for the market” and several innovative technologies for Chinese customers and the Chinese market. After the expected approval at the Annual Continental Shareholders meeting on April 25, 2025, Aumovio is scheduled to list in the Frankfurt Stock Exchange in September 2025.

Continental’s Group Automotive Sector has been present in China for 30 years and uses around 10,000 people there. In financial year 2024, Automotive generated about 14 percent of its global sales in China. The Chinese market is the world’s largest automotive market and, according to internal forecasts and estimates of market research companies, it is expected to grow faster than the global market in the next five years. Automotive has continued to expand its value chain in China locally in recent years to support Chinese and international car manufacturers with local manufacturing, local supply chains and, in particular, local innovations and developments. In Auto Shanghai, Automotive presented the assistance systems for drivers of Luna and Astra, among others. Both were developed in the continental technology of Horizon Continental Horizon de Venture, for the Chinese market. Luna is an assistance system and admits active security, as well as basic driving and parking functions to increase safety and comfort. Astra is an advanced assistance system and allows, among other things, assisted driving without a high -resolution map and parking assistance with the memory function.
