Sennheiser launched HD 505 headphones in India. These are supposed to offer a high fidelity audio experience with internal tilted transducers 120 ohms. The helmets display an open design and are equipped with a 1.8 m cable with a 3.5 mm socket and a 6.35 mm adapter. In the audiophile community, they are presented as the spiritual successor of the Sennheiser HD 560S headphones, which society revealed a few years ago. Do they offer notable improvements? At the cost of RS. 27 990, do the latest headphones Sennheiser HD 505 Copper Edition deserve your consideration? We will discuss below.
Sennheiser HD 505 Design and features: Familière Fraire
- Size – 237x191x96mm
- Weight – 237g (wireless)
- Color – Copper
The open headsets Sennheiser HD 505 are delivered with a familiar Sennheiser HD 500 chassis, but with subtle improvements that make these models more comfortable than most older models. One of the strengths is the weight of helmets. At 237 g, these are lighter not only than the previous iterations in the range, but also the most competing devices of the segment. Despite the generic and voluminous appearance of most over-ear headphones, they are almost weightless on your head and are comfortable even with continuous and continuous hours.
Copper accents add a feeling of quality superior to the look
My childhood doctor, trying to convince me to wear the glasses newly prescribed all day, said to me: “Do not bother to remove them during sleep, they could also help you dream clearly.” It was perhaps this remark (probably not) or the fact that I just need to see; I can’t spend a minute without my glasses since. And since then, most of the Over-Areau headphones have been at war with my specifications. The battle generally continues until I end up with a headache, the helmets pressing the stems of the glasses in my face. However, the Sennheiser HD 505 was a welcome comrade in this tacit battle.
A parameter that helps comfort is the reduced tightening force of the HD 505 compared to existing Sennheiser helmets, in particular HD 560. The brand has clearly done something good to find the optimal balance between a lowered clamping force and a sufficiently stable adjustment. The headphones do not drive the head even with a considerable movement (read: the frantic headquarters with Lotta Love), as long as you adjust the metal sliders adequately.
The Sennheiser HD 505 headband is delivered with a false leather cushioning, which adds to its premium look. The elongated pillows have an exterior of the metal mesh grille and are padded inside with thick and synthetic velvet cushions, which allow the helmet to perch comfortably around the ears. The interior of the ears has a more transparent finish than the existing models too. This probably adds to the opening of the audio setting.
The synthetic velvet ear mug padding is quite thick but comfortable
Helmets are available in a black predominance coloring with copper accents around the ears and edges of the headband. The Sennheiser logo on both cups of ear is also engraved in a copper shade. The color is not too strong and the metal finish adds to the high -end appearance of the Sennheiser HD 505.
Sennheiser HD 505 Specifications: Classic coherence
- Impedance – 120 ohm
- Frequency response range – 12 Hz at 38,500 Hz
Sennehiser claims to wrap 120 ohms internal transducers, manufactured in company facilities in Ireland, in HD 505 headphones. The latest headphones in the 500 series would offer a wide range of 12 Hz frequencies to 38.5 KHz, which should offer users a balanced and rich audio experience. Associated with the design in the middle of the back, it helps the headphones provide a more natural and more open sound scene.
Unlike closed back headphones, the design also does not allow noise isolation. Consequently, sound bleeding from helmets and can be heard by neighboring people outside the user. It is advisable not to use them in a shared or public space, unless you are ready to face the judgments of your reading list or, worse, noise complaints.
The 3.5 mm socket is compatible with most PCs
Although open back pillows do not allow you to flee the sound, they do not prevent the external noise from infiltrating. Unless you are in a relatively quiet location, you will have to face external disturbances. However, this is a common problem with open headsets, and I point out not as a defect but more as a reminder. I suppose that it is prudent to assume that we will mainly use these wired headphones in their native space, that is to say inside, where environmental disturbance or environmental disturbance will not be very worrying.
They are supposed to offer a level of healthy pressure (SPL) of 107.9 dB and would provide total harmonic distortion (THD) of less than 0.2%. The latter suggests that helmets offer high fidelity audio with precise reproduction and minimum distortion. These statements are not unfounded.
Sennheiser HD 505 Performance: Shiphape Sound
- Cable length – 1.8 m
- Cable type – 3.5 mm socket; 3.5 mm screw adapter to 6.35 mm
Before decomposing the audio experience of the Sennheiser HD 505 headphones in granular details, it is sure to say that we get what we expect to Sennheiser Sound, with a few exceptions. We are presented with a largely rounded, warmer and well -balanced sound scene. Bass, as well as certain acute sounds, can be too brilliant for comfort for some of us, but it mainly depends on our subjective sensitivities at certain levels. Personally, the bass was sometimes a little too impactful for my taste, but a slight volume adjustment could not correct.
The stripping in a strip of the headband offers an elegant look
Sennheiser markets HD 505 for “Critical Music Listens, Films and Games”, which makes sense for premium open headphones. The absence of a pressure room behind the dynamic drivers helps users to a more natural and open sound experience than closed back counterparts. The lower registers are clearer and you get an overall immersive audio exhibition. Well, not as immersive as 3D space sound arrangements, but as close as possible to real arrangements. This is why open back helmets are popular among mixers or sound engineers. And if you are interested in something similar or you are trying to start exploring premium headphones, it’s a good starting point.
The Sennheiser HD 505 are listening to perfection. Whether it is games, podcasts, films or simply a good reading of ancient music, there is no avenue where I had problems marked with sound. For example, I looked at Godzilla X Kong: the new empire with these helmets during the revision period, and I was not disappointed. Well, it is not quite true. But the headphones cannot get rid of why in a Monsterverse “Buddy Cop” film expected, we do not see the titans holder together on the screen for about 10 minutes towards the end of the tail. The helmets allowed me to take advantage of the sound landscape, including painful groans and linked to Kong’s teeth and the treble chirping of Mothra, with clear clarity.
From Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence Track the Ballade of Puppets by Kenji Kawai at the time of Flavien Berger and Bonnie Banana, the Sennheiser HD 505 allows us to immerse ourselves in the complex layers of each composition and observe the more grumpy nuances. Agust D, as a rapper, is known to use his breaths to punctuate and rhyme his verses, especially in a song like people of the D-2 mixtape. With these helmets, each draw and the release of said breaths in the song was clearer than I had previously perceived it. Although the low and high notes are well defined, we have struck a little problem with the mediums. They can sometimes seem slightly confused than other sounds, but that has not attenuated my experience much.

Sennheiser HD 505: Verdict
The Sennheiser HD 505 is sold in India for Rs. 27,990 and is a safe choice for most audiophiles or studio professionals. They are however slightly at a price slightly at a price lower than occasional customers. However, if you have the budget and want to explore the niche of high -end headsets, the Sennheiser HD 505 is a good starting point. Keep in mind that with the high fidelity audio experience, the design in the back will not offer noise isolation or cancellation. You can run the risk of causing a distraction or being distracted to cause slight discomfort or be slightly bored. I did not have to worry about the same thing, because I only used them in my personal living space, and my cats did not (read: I could not) complain about my musical taste.
A closed option of Sennheiser, HD 620S (review), is also available in the country. They were at the price of Rs. 32,990 when launch and offer considerable passive noise isolation.
