Element14 has announced the addition of the MCX series of industrial microcontrollers NXP semiconductors and IoT to its portfolio; In addition, the new FRDM development boards on a platform that eliminates limitations to the imagination of a design engineer.
The MCX A series includes MCX A13X, MCX A14X and MCX A15X. These are conventional and easy to use MCU with an innovative power architecture and software compatibility necessary for integrated applications, such as industrial sensors, motor controls, batteries or controllers of hand energy systems, IoT devices and more.
Promoted by the ARM Cortex-M33, the MCX A series are MCU of general use designed to address a wide range of applications with scalable device options, low-power and intelligent peripherals. The innovative energy architecture is designed to admit a high use of I/O and energy efficiency with a simple supply circuit in a small footprint.
The MCX C series MCUs are driven by ARM Cortex-M0+ up to 48 MHz and are designed for energy efficiency and profitability, which makes them very suitable for a wide variety of applications. With USB LCD options and segment, these MCUs meet various needs, providing flexible and scalable packages.
The MCX N series of the highly integrated ARM Cortex-M33 microcontrollers is designed for high performance and low energy consumption. MCX N includes intelligent peripherals and accelerators in chip that provide multitasking capacities and performance efficiency. Selected MCX N families include the NXP (NPU) Neural Processing Unit (NPU) for automatic learning applications.
Finally, the MCX W series are safe and wireless MCU designed for more compact, scalable and innovative designs for the next generation of intelligent and safe connected devices. The MCX W series, based on the Cortex-M33 arm, offers a unified range of multiprotocol wireless MCU compatible with PIN for matter, thread, low energy Bluetooth and Zigbee. MCX W allows intelligent domestic devices interoperable and innovative, sensors and automation controls of intelligent energy products and products.
Justin Mortimer, NXP Global Product Marketing Manager MCU said: “” The NXP MCX portfolio is essential for the future of electrical efficiency edge devices in industrial and IoT markets. The new MCX MCU uses the MCX + FRDM platform improved to integrate essential characteristics that provide engineers to design without limitation. ”
The MCX series is accompanied by the recently improved FRDM Development plates from NXP, a low -cost scalable hardware platform admitted by the Mcuxpresso Developer Experience tools set. Designed to promote creative freedom, these compact boards promote the creation of flexible and rapid prototypes, with standard industry headers that provide easy access to MCU I/O. With the MCU-LINK purification probe on board and the USB-C cable included, engineers can develop, program and purify easily.
- Comprehensive software qualification
The FRDM boards and the MCX portfolio are compatible with the widely adopted Mcuxpresso ecosystem of software and tools to provide an optimal developer experience. Developers can work with Mcuxpresso for the Visual Studio Code, the IDE Mcuxpresso based on NXP eclipse or with IAR and Keil IDS that also offer security certification. NXP provides the controllers and the Middleware examples ready to work outside the box for any of these IDE options, together with additional tools for the configuration of the device, safety and specialized applications.
José Lok, director of category of global, liabilities and semiconductor products in Element14, said: “We are delighted to announce the addition of NXP MCX microcontrollers to our offers. Microcontrollers have been designed to attend to a wide range of edge applications and will become a popular option among design engineers due to their approach to scalability. These additions reflect our commitment to empower our clients and partners so that they can succeed in the increasing technological landscape.”
The MCX series and improved FRDM boards can be requested online from Farnell in EMEA, Newark in North America and Element14 in APAC.
