The Los Angeles Lakers surprised many when they made a great mid -season movement to sign Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks. The decision caused a stir in the NBA, but now it is clear why the Lakers risked. Doncic is demonstrating once again that he is one of the best players in the league, especially in the playoffs.
On Tuesday night, Doncic performed a brilliant performance to help Lakers beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 94-85. He scored 31 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and made nine assists when the Lakers tied the first round playoff series with 1-1.
This last screen was also added to an impressive personal album. Doncic has now scored at least 27 points in 14 consecutive playoff games, the longest current streak in the NBA. This links it to the legendary Wilt Chamberlain for the third longest race in history and moves it ahead of his teammate LeBron James.
Only Michael Jordan and Elgin Baylor have longer gusts.
Since he joined the Lakers, the 26 -year -old Slovenian has played a key role in his hopes of playoffs. Despite scoring 37 points in game 1, the Lakers still lost. But in game 2, Doncic led from the beginning, scoring 22 points, collecting five rebounds and giving five assists only in the first half.
LeBron James also took a step forward after a quiet game 1. The 40 -year -old added 21 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists to support Doncic efforts.
The series now moves to Minnesota for game 3 on Friday. As the Lakers aim to get far in the playoffs, they will have Doncic to maintain their strong form
