The Ukrainian authorities say that Russia is responsible for an attack of missile and night drones against kyiv that killed nine people and wounded another 70, including children.
The Military Administration of the city of kyiv said on its telegram channel that Russia hit kyiv with drones and ballistic missiles. At least 45 drones were detected, the administration said, adding that the Ukraine Air Force would update the figures later.

The attack, which began around 1:00 am, hit at least five neighborhoods in Kyiv. In the Sviathynkskyi district, a fire broke out in a residential building that was damaged in the attack. More fires were reported in the districts of Shevchenkivsky and Holosiivskyi.
At least 42 people were hospitalized, said the Ukrainian state emergency service. The first to respond worked in the morning, finding bodies under the rubble.
The attack occurred hours after the peace negotiations seemed to stop, with President Donald Trump attacking Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, saying that he was prolonging the “murder field” by withdrawing on Cemale to Crimea to Russia as part of a possible peace plan. Later that day, Trump said “it has been more difficult” to deal with Zelenskyy than Russia.
Zelenskyy has said several times that recognizing the territory occupied as Russian is a red line for his country.
