Motorola has been on a role lately, launching several new products this year. A few weeks ago, we saw the launch of the Motorola Edge 60 stylus, followed by the new Motorola Pad Pro and the laptop of the motorcycle book. Last night, Motorola also announced its new Razr 60 and Razr 60 Ultra models in the United States as its premium foldable offers for the current year. At the same time, Motorola has also announced its new EDGE 60 models and Edge 60 Pro to add to its mid -range offers. Although there is no news on the new Razrs in India for the moment, Motorola has officially started teasing her Edge 60 Pro, which should be launched on April 30. I had early access to this smartphone, and here are my first impressions.
The Motorola Edge 60 Pro is a successor to the Edge 50 Pro launched last year. The phone was at a competitive price at Rs. 31,999 and offered a good mix of features, including a vegan body wrapped in leather with an IP68 note, a quick wireless load and capable cameras, as explained in our review. However, he failed in the life of the battery and had a slightly embarrassing display. With the new Edge 60 Pro, Motorola seems to have tackled and worked on these shortcomings.
The Motorola Edge 60 Pro will be available in three colors at launch
The new phone appears very similar to the model it replaces. It has this feeling of leather tank in vegans despite an IP69 note and an MI-STD-810h certification this year. It was also surprisingly thin for the few minutes I was able to use it, since it has a high capacity battery. It is available in three colors: shadow, sparkling grapes and dazzling blue. The sparkling finish of the grapes looked very chic and seemed high -end.
The Motorola Edge 60 PRO has a 120 Hz -pointed panel
Things have also changed in front. There is now a 4C curved screen, as Motorola calls it. The 6.67 inch and 1.5K display and a resolution of 120 Hz appeared very similar to the curved edge display of the previous model, but the Corning Gorilla Glass 7i screen on the upper and lower edges also obtains a less aggressive curvature. The same can be said of the display below, which curves much more deeply in the sides compared to the top and bottom. As you may have noticed, the refresh rate of 144 Hz has been reduced to 120 Hz, which is honestly not a big problem. However, Motorola claims that this new Poled panel offers 4,500 nits of Pic’s brightness, which is much brighter than the edge of the 50 Pro edge.
The configuration of the Edge 60 Pro camera is delivered with some changes this year
The configuration of the camera also seems a little different this year. There is now a new Sony Lyt 700c sensor of 50 megapixels and an ultrawid 50 megapixel camera (is doubled from the macro camera). The 10 -megapixel telephotal camera and the 50 megapixel selfie camera remain unchanged. What has disappeared is the autofocus laser sensor (TOF) and the 3 in 1 sensor (for the exhibition, the Balance of the Auto Whites and the Sparkle). Motorola said that the new phone had a multi-speaking sensor for color accuracy, given its camera and display validated by Pantone.
The processor has received a much necessary upgrade this year. The Motorola Edge 60 Pro gets Mediatek Dimensity 8350 Extreme processor (which would have an increased clock speed), a large upgrade of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 last year. RAM and storage are also discussed. With 8/12 GB of RAM LPDDR5X and 256 GB of UFS 4.0 storage. Although the new chipset will offer a boost, Motorola says that it is also designed to feed their new Moto AI 2.0 experiences for devices.
Moto AI has been applied to several parts of the user experience
The AI 2.0 motorcycle can be removed by simply pressing the AI dedicated key. There are tons of new and interesting features, but none of them was functional or accessible on demonstration units. I will dive into their contact details in the full exam. Motorola seems to use various AI models to accomplish tasks. In fact, you can even choose an AI model (such as Gemini or Perplexity) to perform a particular task by voice command. The AI 2.0 motorcycle interface, by pressing the button, appears with a card type superposition, taking the lower half of the screen, and is therefore accessible, whatever the task or application that we use. Moto AI 2.0 works on UI Hello, which is now based on Android 15.
Motorola even talked about using the AI for its treatment for the camera, which reminded me of the Apple iPhone 16 devices. It can mainly apply a personalized color treatment of your choice to all the images taken by the phone cameras.
The phone was slim enough for a device with a 6,000 mAh battery
A large complaint from our Edge 50 Pro review was the battery life, and Motorola worked on this. The Motorola Edge 60 Pro is now delivered with a 6,000 mAh battery (from 4,500mAh) but obtains a slower 90W load. The Qi-Standard 15W wireless load has been preserved.
Indeed, it seems that Motorola has listened to its users and offer a segment beat package. However, we will have to test the company’s complaints and check if the hardware upgrades work as expected. Until then, stay listening for our detailed exam, which will soon be released!
