Dordash has asked a judge of the Superior Court of California to dismiss a lawsuit filed by Uber that accuses the food delivery company to quell the competition by intimidating restaurants owners in exclusive agreements.
Dordash argues in Your movement That Uber claim lacks merit on all fronts. On a website publication On Friday, Dordash said: “Demand is nothing more than a tactic of cynical and calculated fear of a frustrated competitor who seeks to avoid real competition. It is a disappointing behavior of a company once known for competing in the merits of its products and innovation.”
In its publication, Dordash added that “vigorously” will be defended and positioned the company as one that “competes fiercely but fairly to offer exceptional value to merchants.”
A hearing has been scheduled for July 11 at the Superior Court of California in San Francisco County.
Uber filed his lawsuit against Dordash in February. The transport transport giant claimed that Dordash, which has most of the food delivery market in the United States, threatens restaurants with multimillionaire sanctions or the elimination or degradation of the position of the companies in the DORDASH application.
Uber responded to the Dortash application in a statement sent to Techcrunch.
“It seems that Dordash’s team is having difficulty understanding the content of our complaint,” says the statement sent by Uber email. “When restaurants are forced to choose between unfair or reprisal terms, that is not competition, it is coercion. Uber will continue to defend merchants and a leveling playing field. We hope to present the facts in court.”
Uber requested a jury trial in his original complaint. The company has not specified the amount of damage you are looking for.
Separately, delivery confirmed On Friday that Dordash offered to buy the European Food Delivery Company for $ 3.6 billion.
