Around 300 members of Deepmind, based in London, based in London, seek to unionize with the Communication Workers Union, according to A FINANCIAL Times report That cites three people involved in the unionization effort.

According to reports, these Deepmind employees are not happy with Google’s decision to eliminate a promise of not using AI for weapons or surveillance of their website. They are also concerned about the company’s work with the Israeli army, including a cloud computing contract of $ 1.2 billion that has caused protests in other places in Google.

A source told the FT that team members feel “deceived”, and the correspondence shows that at least five members of the Deepmind staff have stopped mentioning these problems. Deepmind has about 2,000 members of the total staff in the United Kingdom.

A Google spokesman told the FT that the company encourages “constructive dialogue and open with all our employees.”

A small group of around 200 Google employees and its Alphabet parent company announced previously that they were syndicated, although as a union that represents only a small portion of Google’s total workforce, it lacked the ability to collectively bargain.
