Actor Jack Lowden said that he liked the idea of ”breaking the barriers” by being a ginger Mr. Darcy in a new adaptation of the pride and prejudices of Jane Austen.
The 34 -year -old joked the BBC Sunday with Laura Kuensberg that “this is one of the latest obstacles to decompose”.
In a large -scale interview alongside his compatriot British actor Martin Freeman, 53, he discussed being trained by a former MI6 officer and their next West End game.
On his role in the six -part adaptation of Netflix of the classic novel of Austen, Lowden said that he could be inspired by certain actors who have already played the emblematic role of Mr. Darcy.
“I like the idea of being a Darcy ginger,” he told the BBC. “I think it’s really the decomposition of barriers – one of the last big barriers to be broken down.”
Sitting next to Lowden, a smiling freeman said he “agreed”.
Lowden continued: “I like the idea that I come and did something else.
“Or simply copy one of them because some of the guys who played it are among the best. Matthew Macfadyen, for me, is one of the best players on the planet. So, if I just try to copy it – maybe it’s okay?”
“But Ginger?” Asked Freeman.
“Ginger,” said Lowden. “Yes, change it.”

Lowden and Freeman should participate in the West End theater show by David Ireland the Fifth Step which should open its doors in Soho Place Theater on May 12.
The couple told the program that they had not met before they accept to play an alcoholic sponsor and their anonymous sponsor.
Lowden said he loved the dark humor of the series, saying that, although it was “cheesy”, laughter was “the best medication” and a way of “self-healing”.

Asked about the series nominated at the BAFTA Slow Horses, which focuses on the intelligence agents who were rejected by the MI5, Lowden spoke of being trained in Spycrates.
“We did a day with a former MI6 officer who helped us train with the art of surveillance and counter-surveillance. Walk and follow a brand.
“He gave us a conference a little and then said:” We are going to go out and do this “. But then he pulled the shutters on the window and saw that he was raining and he went” Oh not perhaps that we should not “.
“So the MI6 does not work much in the rain,” said Lowden – which was presented as a possibility for the new James Bond -. “Maybe it’s because they are a lot abroad.”
Freeman then shared his own experiences on being “with an occasionally”.
“Just by people, sometimes follow. And they think you don’t know and of course you know.”
Freeman said these experiences are “less frightening and more boring”.
“It’s boring because they think you don’t know they do it. So, sometimes I’m going back and I’m going, that you want?”
“I try to be reasonable with people and say” look, I’m not an accessory “.”
