33 Place Brugmann by Alice Austen

Charlotte Sauvin has always seen the world differently. At home in 33 Place Brugmann, in the heart of Brussels, his father and his closest friends and neighbors, the raphaëls of the fourth floor, and Masha del Quinto, have assured that their secret is safe. But when the Nazis invade Belgium, and Masha and the Raphaëls disappear, Charlotte must browse only their new world.

Through the border and on the other side of the sea, in Paris busy and Blitz London, Masha and the Raphaels are reinventing, such as refugees, nurses, soldiers, heroes. Although scattered everywhere, they dream of one place, a house: 33 Brugmann place.

But back in Brugmann’s place, Charlotte feels imminent in danger. As the months go by, and the shadow of the war darkens, Charlotte and his neighbors must face what, and who really cares more, and summon the courage to fight for more than survival.

With very high imagination and deep intimacy, 33 Brugmann place It is a captivating and devastating celebration of the power of love, courage and art in times of great threat.
