Asus was one of the first manufacturers of laptops to join the Snapdragon X Elite train. When Qualcomm announced the new flea for laptops and showed all its capacities, Asus jumped on board and introduced the VivoBook S15 OLED (S5507). This is the first vivobook to come with the chipset, and Asus claims impressive performance in an elegant factor. I spent a few days trying the laptop to find out if the statements were true, and here is what I discovered.

Asus VivoBook S15 OLED DESIGN: Classy and Slim

The new VivoBook S15 OLED looks like the Intel Core Ultra model, but you will notice some modifications. It is always a very clean design with a minimal style, which I really liked. You will find the new VivoBook logo on the lid and another logo on the lower scope of the screen. The laptop is 14.7 mm at the finest, has slightly curved edges and weighs approximately 1.42 kg. Asus used a fully metal construction, but you will see a little bending on the lid and the keyboard area.
The laptop cover can be open with one hand
The hinges feel sustainable, are not bank and support the movement at 180 degrees. You can also lift the lid easily using a hand. Many ports are also available. You will find two Type A USB ports on the right side, HDMI 2.1, a Type-C double USB, a microSD card slot and an audio plug of 3.5 mm on the left side. The rear shelters the exhaust vents and you will find many intake cuts at the bottom, as well as the double-speaker grids.

The opening of the cover reveals a colored OLED screen, which offers 3K resolution, HDR support and a 120 Hz refresh rate with up to 600 brightness. Although the screen is shiny, it is ideal for looking at content or modifying photos, because you get deep blacks and bright colors. The laptop offers decent light inside, but I would have liked it to be higher. In external use, I found the inadequate brightness, mainly because the panel is shiny and reflective.
The hinge allows you to put the laptop flat
The display has super thin glasses on the sides, with the upper and lower glasses also quite thin. Asus also claims that the panel is Tüv Rheinland and Sgs Eye Case certified. The rapid refreshment rate makes the screen better to look at.

The VivoBook S15 OLED obtains a full-size chileto keyboard with RGB backlight to an area. There is a certain gap between the keys; They offer 1.7 mm of travel. It is a comfortable keyboard to type. However, I did not find the backlight too brilliant despite the keyboard offering three levels of brightness control. Silver -colored keys are not very legible during the day either. You can change the color of the backlight using the Myasus application. The arrow keys are also quite small, and as it is a co -pilot + PC, you will get a dedicated co -pilot key.
The keys offer a good trip but are not very readable because they are the money
Under the keyboard is a large touchpad slightly out of center. It supports multi-touch gestures, is fluid to use and offers good touch comments. It’s a good touchpad, and I had no complaints.
Coming to audio on the laptop, you get downward shooting speakers on each side that are certified by Harmon Kardon. They can become noisy, but there is not much bass. The voices are clear, there is no tear in full volume and the support of Dolby Atmos gives good surround experience when searching for videos and films.
Manual confidentiality shutter is pleasant to have
The webcam is a complete web camera with a physical confidentiality shutter, which is pleasant to have. The webcam table also offers an IR sensor for Windows Hello and a microphone. The quality is good in the pieces brilliantly lit for video and photos. However, low light conditions will bring a lot of noise.
Asus VivoBook S15 OLED SOFTWARE: BASIC with a certain AI

The VivoBook S15 OLED S5507 is a COPILOT + PC, which means that you have access to some AI features, such as live legends, the co-creator and the effects of Windows Studio. Features such as controversial recall have not yet been deployed, so I could not test them. You also get a super-resolution of the AI that improves the game experience, but I haven’t really performed games on the laptop.
COCREATOR is a tool in Microsoft Paint which can complete your unfinished art using AI in real time. It works, but not as well as I expected it, but it is probably because of my drawing skills. The live legends function is more useful because it provides real-time subtitles for all kinds of audio content. Finally, Windows Studio’s effects are designed to help you have a better video experience.
The laptop runs Windows 11 at home
There are not many integrated Asus applications. You get the Myasus application, which you will need to control various system settings, install firmware upgrades, choose fans and modify the keyboard backlight.
In terms of global software experience, the ARM platform has a long way to go in terms of applications compatibility. Although the most commonly used browsers, media players, social applications, mounting tools, desktop tools and coding programs support the arm, some rare applications are still in beta.
Asus Vivobook S15 Performance OLED: Solid

Going to performance, the laptop does a good job with most productivity applications, even when operating on a balanced diet profile. However, the opening of more than a dozen tabs on Google Chrome has resulted in hiccups. I believe that it has more to do with the short -run system that can be used than the Snapdragon X Elite chip. In a full performance profile, the processor can draw up to 50W, which is enough to execute all kinds of productivity applications, publishing tools and streaming applications.
The laptop offers 16 GB of RAM, but it is not enough for tasks with high intensity of resources
The laptop was slightly warmed up to the touch during the execution of a few landmarks, but nothing to discourage you from using it. Even when it had become hot, it was above all the upper section of the keyboard around the function line.

As you can see, the laptop gets very good scores on geekbench and crossmark. There are a few games you can play on the arm chipset, but don’t expect much. Fans do not light up during daily use, which included the use of the laptop for work, the eye of YouTube videos and photo modification. However, during high use, fans have activated, but they were not strong enough to distract you. You hear the fans embark on the full disc only when you run heavy applications. The integrated 1 TB storage player worked well in my tests.
Asus VivoBook S15 OLED BATTERY: Quite good

A long service life of the battery is supposed to be the positive point of using the Arm chipset, and that seems to be true, although it is nothing close to what Asus claims. With normal use, the laptop hardly lasts a full day of work. This is with the brightness defined at around 50% and the balanced power profile. Add streaming and Netflix streaming broadcasting, then the battery life drops a little, but you can always call it the battery life all day. What is incredible is the draw when the laptop is in standby mode. Thanks to the efficiency of the Snapdragon X Elite chipset, you can close the lid and don’t have to worry about a crazy draw.
There are four performance profiles available in the Myasus application
The 90W power adapter also makes the battery loading. An hour of load can offer up to 80% battery, with a full load taking approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Asus VivoBook S15 Verdict Oled
Here is the thing of the Vivobook S15 OLED S5507 of Asus. At the price of Rs. 1.24,990, the laptop is not cheap and it is in competition with laptops such as the Apple MacBook Air 15. Although it can give the Apple laptop a battle with regard to lifespan and the design of the battery, there is no shortage of performance category due to the limit to 16 GB of RAM in India.
However, if performance is not the most important thing for you and you will mainly use it for work that does not imply a heavy video editing, then it is an excellent laptop to obtain. That said, it’s not as if this laptop could not get things done. There is a beautiful OLED screen which is ideal for content consumption, design is a plus and you also get excellent battery life. Overall, it is an excellent 15 -inch laptop.
