Trump said he congratulated Carney for his electoral victory when the Canadian leader called Tuesday.
Washington:
The president of the United States, Donald Trump, said Wednesday that Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney is looking to make a commercial agreement and will visit the White House in the next week.
Trump said he congratulated Carney for his electoral victory when the Canadian leader called Tuesday.
“Yesterday he called me, he said we made a deal,” Trump told the White House journalists after a televised cabinet meeting.
Trump said Carney “I couldn’t have been friendlier and congratulated him.” He said that the Canadian leader would come to the White House in a week.
Trump said this week’s Canadian elections send a “very mixed signal because it is almost uniform, which makes it very complicated for the country. It is a very tight race.”
