The former Super Eagles striker, Victor Agali, has asked the Nigerians to remain patient and support the national team while pursuing the qualification for the FIFA 2026 World Cup.
The Super Eagles had a bad start in their campaign, none of its first four classification games did not win. Things improved slightly with a 2-0 victory against Rwanda under the new coach Eric Chelle. However, a disappointing tie against Zimbabwe has left Nigeria’s possibilities to qualify in balance.
Despite this, Agali believes that the team needs more time to find its rhythm and develop.
“We should be patient with them. We must also support and encourage them. They are our youngest and deserve our patience and encouragement to grow,” said Marseille striker in an interview with Complete sports.
He also reminded fans that the qualification should not be seen as the end of the road.
“There is the possibility that they can win all their remaining games and not yet qualify. It is not a matter of life and death. Of course, we will be happy if they achieve it, but even if they do not, continue supporting them and preparing for the next opportunity. Life continues,” added the 46 -year -old.
Agali emphasized the importance of maintaining faith, while accepting any result that the team can face.
“We want the team to qualify. We want to see the Nigerian flag in Mexico, the United States and Canada. I think it is still possible. But if it does not happen, we accept it and move it,” he concluded.
Nigeria is currently six points from the leaders of the South Africa group and must win the remaining four games to have the opportunity to reach the FIFA 2026 World Cup.
