Asus recently launched the brand new A14 tuff Gaming with the latest AMD Ryzen chipsets, which promise to offer excellent performance and electrical efficiency as well as improved AI capacities. The Gaming A14 tuf, on paper, seems to be an incredible choice for someone looking to buy a compact game laptop, of which there are not many. While the new A14, in particular the Ryzen AI 9 Chipset variant, may not align with the reputation of the tuf series, it offers a lot for money.
The variant with the AMD Ryzen AI 9 hx 370 SOC, which we received for examination, costs rs. 1.69 990. It is also equipped with 32 GB of RAM, storage of 2 TB and a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 GPU with 8 GB of VRAM. Everything that is packed in a compact and light body that looks like an ordinary laptop. Asus Tuf Gaming A14 Design: feels difficult, is difficult

The Tuf Gaming A14 offers a minimalist design approach, and nothing suggests that it is a laptop of play. It has a metal cover with a matt finish, and the tuf logo, and that’s about it. There is no RGB lighting on the laptop, but you get four system LEDs forming a “X” pattern on the slightly protruding rear edge. This is the most visible when the lid is closed.

The lower panel is also made of metal and is mainly covered with diamond -shaped intake grids. The rear edge houses the exhaust ports. When you open the cover, you will find matt finished plastic panels, which tend to collect fingerprints and stains. There are two hinges that hold the upper half, which seems robust and can go to 180 degrees.

Asus has managed to offer Tuf Gaming A14 a MIL-STD-810H certification, which means that it can resist difficult use and survive difficult conditions. It does not weigh either and is lighter than most other laptops in the same segment. It is really portable and easy to transport.

On the display front, the Gaming A14 tuf offers a good package for mobile players. The 14 -inch IPS panel may not become super shiny in OLED, but it provides games focused on games such as a rapid 165 Hz refreshment rate, a resolution of 2.5K, a 3ms response time and an NVIDIA GSYNC support. Color reproduction is good, but the anti-eclat finish means that colors seem silent by watching movies or television shows.

The panel offers a 16:10 appearance ratio and a 100%SRGB color support. You get thin glasses on the sides and a screen / body ratio of 88%. If your main goal with this laptop is to play in motion, the screen will do very well, even if you play outside. There is also a MUX switch and an advanced NVIDIA optimus support. ASUS also allows you to modify the color profiles using the armory checkout application.

I loved keyboards on asus gaming laptops, and it does not disappoint. There is 1.7 mm of travel and a good spacing between the keys, making it an excellent keyboard to type. You also get four additional keys at the top left, and the arrow keys are all of the same size and the same shape. The keyboard also offers a LED mini-walking, which, although super shiny, is only available only one white color. Without the armory checkout or the hexagonal power button, it could easily be confused with an ordinary laptop. There is also a co -pilot key here if you need it.
The keyboard offers 1.7 mm travel
Asus provided a large glass touchpad on the laptop, which worked very well during the review. He has a ratio of aspect 16:10, reflecting the display. The touchpad also managed to avoid ghost keys during the game. It has a 240 Hz report and the clicks were also satisfactory.
What was not satisfactory was the pair of speakers on the laptop. They are at best on average, lack bass and are not excellent during the game. Although they can become decent noisy, it is not the best audio experience because of the placement. It is best to connect a nice pair of wired game headphones or connect your favorite wireless headphones during the game or search for content. Dolby Atmos works better when connected to headphones.
The laptop has a 180 -degree hinge
Finally, the 1080p web camera on the laptop is above average. It works well when there is a lot of light but is noisy in low light conditions. Color reproduction is decent. You get IR sensors for supporting Windows Hello, but there is no confidentiality shutter of the physical camera.
Asus Tuf Gaming A14 Software: You get what you need

The laptop runs Windows 11 Home Out of the Box, and you get Microsoft Office Home and Student as usual. Asus also is full of McAfee antivirus, which is more discomfort than help. The armoring tool included is useful because it allows you to personalize various aspects of the laptop. You can also easily switch between performance profiles using this tool. The armory button at the top left of the keyboard also facilitates switching profiles.
The armory body is a useful tool
The Ryzen AI 9 processor on the laptop offers a powerful NPU so that you can run AI programs. Thanks to the dedicated key, you have access to the Copilot + Chatbot each time you need it. The chatbot can help you get quick responses to requests, summarize the text and even control the Windows settings.

The new Ryzen AI 9 hx 370 of AMD is a powerful chipset, and this showed throughout the exam period. It is a 12 -core processor with 24 threads and an improved AMDNA NPU XDNA which is good for up to 50 highs. The laptop also obtains a integrated Radeon 890m GPU, which I found quite good in terms of performance.
The Ryzen AI 9 hx 370 offers good overall performance
Speaking of performances, I directed a few synthetic benchmarks on the laptop to see how it went. If you look at the scores below, the AMD Ryzen AI 9 hx 370 has managed to surpass its flagship and Intel flagship chipsets. Benchmarks also show that the laptop offers better game performance than some of its rivals, such as HP transcends Omen 14.

For daily tasks, with the profile set to silent, the laptop worked well enough. I did not really face slow behavior by running several tabs on Chrome, as well as some other applications. If you plan to use it for work, you will have no problem with this. In the silent profile, the fans come on barely.
In turbo mode, which is the best for the game, the laptop offers solid performance. I played several titles, such as Forza Horizon 5, Hogwarts Legacy, Mafia III Remastered, Star Wars Jedi Survivor, and I managed to obtain respectable images (60 to 120 on average) at a resolution of 1200p. The laptop becomes hot and noisy during the game, but it is incredible to see how Asus managed to offer so much performance of a laptop as thin and light.
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 GPU can draw up to 110 W from power in manual mode, while the processor can deliver a maximum TDP of 65W. Although the RAM is welded and not moderable, you get a M.2 location which supports up to 2 to storage for a total of 4 TB.

Another advantage of the AMD Ryzen AI 9 hx 370 processor is its effectiveness, which, combined with the large battery of the laptop, offers excellent battery backup. I was pleasantly surprised by the life of the battery that I obtained on the Asus Tuf Gaming A14. For the first time in my life, I survived a complete 9 -hour working day with a laptop game. In the silent profile and Windows battery management, balance, the laptop has successfully completed about 6 to 7 hours of regular editorial work with ease.
The only LED element of the laptop is this bright x -shaped system
When the battery was almost empty, the laptop load was quick, thanks to the 200W brick provided in the box. A full load takes approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes, while 50% is reached in about 30 minutes.
Verdict Asus Tuf Gaming A14
I will keep the simple verdict. If you are looking for a compact, light and powerful laptop on which you can play, the Asus Tuf Gaming A14 is very difficult not to recommend. It has a nice display, the battery life is excellent, you can play AAA games on it without any concern, there are a lot of ram and storage, many ports, and it’s super portable.
The Asus Tuf Gaming A14 does not have much competition in the segment. There is the Rog Zephyrus G14 from his stable, which is better but more expensive. Then you have the HP Omen Transcend 14 (review), which, although cheaper, does not offer the same performance or efficiency.
