Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski played protagonist roles to help Barcelona a 4-0 dominant victory over Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of their quarterfinals of the Champions League.
Lewandowski scored twice and Raphinha had a goal and an assistance, leaving the Catalan club in a strong position to reach the semifinals for the first time since 2019.
Lamine Yamal also scored when Barcelona gave a dominant blow to the hopes of the German side of advancing.
The return game is next Tuesday in Dortmund, who lost the final of last season against Real Madrid.
“We play very well, but we still can’t think of the semifinals,” Lewandowski said. “We score four goals at home, but we still have the return section to play.”
Raphinha joined his leading champions league account by putting the ball on the open network in the 25th minute for his 12th goal in the competition this season, before establishing Lewandowski’s first goal at night three minutes after halftime.
Lewandowski then scored his eleventh goal from the Champions League with an effort for the first time in the middle of the second half, before Yamal completed the scoreboard.
