Barcelona and Inter Milan played a dramatic 3-3 draw in the first leg of their semifinal of the Champions League, with both parties showing a great attack style in a six-goal thriller.
Inter Milan surprised the local crowd at the Montjuïc Olympic stadium scoring only 30 seconds in the game. Marcus Thuram moved skillfully at Denzel Dumfries’s low crossing with a back to score the fastest goal in a semifinal of the Champions League.
Things worsened for Barcelona 20 minutes later, when Dumfries scored again, this time with an impressive upper kick, to give Inter 2-0 an advantage.
But Lamine Yamal, 17, brought Barcelona back to the match with a brilliant solo goal in the 24th minute. He passed several defenders before shooting a charming left shot that entered the post.
Yamal, making his number 100 for Barcelona, was the outstanding interpreter. He also hit the carpentry twice and showed why he is one of the brightest young talents of world football.
Barcelona did it 2-2 before part time when Ferran Torres put the ball from short distance after Raphinha went through Pedri’s long pass in the 38th minute.
In the second half, Dumfries scored his second and the third goal of Inter in the 63rd minute with a powerful header from the corner of Hakan Calhanoglu.
But Barcelona responded almost immediately. Only two minutes later, Raphinha hit a powerful shot from 25 yards that broke the crossbar, bounced and crossed the line after hitting the back of the inter -target Yann Sommer.
The exciting game ended 3-3, leaving everything to play in the second leg, which takes place next Tuesday in San Siro in Milan.
