A star from the BBC Gladiators show announced the death of his son a few days after his birth prematurely.

Zack George, who plays Steel, described his son Leo as “our lion” in an Instagram post.

The 34 -year -old man, from Leicester, said that he and his Samantha wife “would love you more than you know.”

Mr. George, an athlete CrossFit, won the title of the most fit man in the United Kingdom in 2020 and joined the first series of the BBC show restarted in 2024.

He and his wife also have a daughter called Ivy.

In his article announcing the news, he said, “Your mummy brought you to this world and your dad held you when you leave.

“Leo, you showed us what is the real definition of strength and we are so proud of you.

“You have brought so much positivity to the world with the short period of time with us and we felt this positivity in abundance, we thank you all for that.

“Although you were only with us for a short time, you brought us a life of love.

“Thank you for letting us know that you were tired of this fight.

“We will be forever grateful that we did not have to make this decision for you.”

Friends also sent their condolences to the couple.

The star of JLS, JB Gill, said: “Darling, what a little warrior, thoughts and prayers to you and your family.”

The star of the compatriots of Gladiators Montell Douglas, who plays fire in the show, added: “Rip Baby Leo. Thoughts and prayers are with both of you.”
