The Borderlands 4 game is immersed in the new game elements of the next Gearbox Software looters, with a lot of information on loot, new types of improvements and two of the four playable players, Vex and Rafa vault hunters. The trailer also highlighted the world of Kairos, a new planet for the Borderlands Universe, and how to explore it will focus less on receiving missions and more on finding them yourself.
Kairos, according to the video, is a secret world, hidden for thousands of years by the timer, the main villain of Borderlands 4. Its location was discovered thanks to the events of Borderlands 3, while the moon Lilith teleported from Pandora broke the veil hiding Kairos and exposed it to the rest of the universe.
The game showed one of the missions of the game, set in a Nevada mountain area called Terminus Range. New movement skills were highlighted, including sliding, handsome, double jump and points fight, and a new vehicle called Digirunner, as well as a dynamic weather system.
The demonstration then presents a silo, which according to the video is “one of several new activities found at Borderlands 4.” These activities will appear “naturally” as the players explore the world of Kairos, without the need to be assigned first the mission: once you find one of these random events, it will be added to your map and will be traced in the HUD.
The last of the popular Looter-Shoter series of Gearbox Software, Borderlands 4 was first announced at Gamescom Night Live 2024 Opening last August. The first progress of the game was issued in the 2024 game awards, where it was confirmed that it would be launched in September of this year.
Borderlands 4 will be launched on September 12 at Xbox Series X | S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC. Originally it will be launched on September 23, but 2k and Gearbox increased the date earlier this week, and they swore that it was not for Grand Theft Auto VI.
