At least one person believes that the drought of the Canadian Stanley Cup will come to an end.
The TNT analyst and the member of the Basketball Hall of Basketball Charles Barkley made their Playoffs Stanley Playoffs on Saturday, presenting in writing that he believes that the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Edmonton Oilers will find themselves for an opportunity in the Cup.
Barkley limited the predictions by stating that the Oilers will eventually be the side of raising Lord Stanley and sang a kind of interpretation of ‘or Canada’ to really pierce at the point.
Although he put his faith in the Leafs and the Oilers, he predicted that the Canadians would be knocked out by the capitals in Round 1 and that the leading planes of the league would suffer their disappearance at the hands of the avalanche of Colorado in the round 2. He, of course, predicted that the senators would lose the “battle of Ontario.”
If Barkley is right, it would be the first time since 1989 that two Canadian teams are in the Stanley Cup final, after the Hobs and Calgary Flames separated that year, with the flames on the top.
While it is not a safe thing, Barkley does not have the worst record when it comes to its guarantees. He previously guaranteed in December 2023 that Boston Celtics would win the title later that year, which they finally did.
However, he also guaranteed last month that the Arizona Wildcats would reach the Final Four of March Madness, despite being eliminated by Duke in the Sweet 16.
So take it as you want, Oilers and Leafs fans.
Barkley may not be perfect, nobody is, but having faith is half of the battle when it comes to the belief that a Canadian team can take the Stanley Cup home. And Barkley has nothing if not faith.
