
The center of Chelsea, Tosin Adarabioyo, has shared how to grow with Nigerian food helped make it stronger as a footballer.
The 27 -year -old defender joined Chelsea from Fulham in a free transfer at the beginning of the season after his contract ended at Craven Cottage.
Since he joined the blues, Tosin has become a key player under the manager Enzo Maresca. 13 Premier League matches has begun and appeared in nine games of the UEFA Conference League, scoring four goals and providing assistance.
Tosin, who was born in England of Nigerian parents, said his education was strongly influenced by Nigerian culture, especially when it came to food.
“We are a Nigerian family. It was a Nigerian education: food, traditions, everything. It is a bit different from what you would expect in England,” Tosin said in an interview with the official Chelsea website.
“The food is harder, things like the beaten yam. It is the type of food that makes you strong.”
The former Manchester City defender is still proud of his Nigerian roots, he often shares parts of his culture in social networks. Although he has played for England at the youth level, he has not yet presented for the national senior team.
Many fans and soccer experts believe that Tosin could still choose to represent Nigeria’s Super Eagles in the future, but has not made a final decision.
