Dancing on Ice was “rested” with “No current plans for another series,” ITV announced.
The decision means that the program will not be broadcast for its 20th anniversary next year.
The ice skating competition began in 2006 but suffered from the fall in the number of viewers recently.
The basic food for Sunday evening was organized by Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield until Schofield resigned from ITV in 2023 after admitting to having lied to a liaison with a younger colleague this morning.
A spokesperson for the ITV said: “After another series successful earlier this year, Dancing On Ice will be rested in 2026 without current plans for another series.
“We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the actors and the team that have been working on the show since 2006, and during the 17 previous series, for all their hard work on and out of the ice.”
In an Instagram message ThursdayWilloughby thanked everyone who “was part of our Dancing On Ice family.
She added: “I will miss it a lot, but I had so lucky to have it as long as us.”
The show sees celebrities twinned with professional ice skaters to make routines in front of a panel of judges.
The notes were strong for several years, but the vision figures have dropped this year.
An average of 2.9 million viewers paid live for the launch broadcast in January, against 2024, when an average of 3.6 million viewers watched the first episode.
This year seriesWho was co-organized by Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern, was won by the actor of Coronation Street Sam Aston and his skating partner Molly Lanaghan.
The other celebrities that have been presented at ice since 2006 are the Olympic gymnast Beth Tweddle, the actor of Eastenders Sam Attwater and the presenter Joe Swash.
The judges included the Olympic champions Christopher Dean and Jayne Torvill, who have both been in the series from the start.
Willoughby left this morning in October 2023, leading to speculation that she could also stop dancing on the ice.
But ITV later announced that she would continue to host the show, and she returned for the 2024 series alongside Mulhern.
Willoughby and Mulhern first worked together on the Ministry of Mayhem of the children’s program in the mid -90s. The show was then titled Holly & Stephen’s Saturday.
They also briefly organized the skating competition together in 2022 after Schofield was tested positive for COVID-19.
