Dua Lipa won the rejection of a trial which accused him of copying his successful levitation single of two other songs.
The star was continued in 2022 by the songwriters L Russell Brown and Sandy Linzer, who accused her of plagiarizing their Disco track from 1979 Swiggle and laugh all night and 1980 Donia Diablo.
On Thursday, American judge Katherine Polk Failla ruled that the songs had only generic similarities, including non -copyrightable musical elements which had also been used before by Mozart, Gilbert and Sullivan, and the Bee Gees in their song Suite ‘Alive.
This is the second time that Lipa has gained a case of plagiarism on Levitation, which was a worldwide success in 2020.
She has already been prosecuted by the Florida Artikal Sound System reggae group, who said that Lipa was tearing up the choir of their song 2015 2015 Live your life.
Their case was abandoned in 2023 after a judge ruled that there was no evidence that Lipa and his co -authors had “access” to the previous song – a key requirement in any copyright trial.
However, she is still faced with a third legal challenge on the song, by musician Bosko Kante – a star artist on Levitation, who sang voices through a discussion box.
He continued in 2023, Saying that his contribution had been used on the remixes of the song without authorization.
Kante requests damages of at least $ 2 million (1.5 million pounds sterling) more interest, as well as the profits of remixes, which it estimated to be at least $ 20 million (15 million pounds sterling).

The case of Brown and Linzer alleged that Lipa had stolen the levitation opening melody, where she sings: “If you want to run away with me, I know a galaxy and I can take you a look.“”
They called the melody and phrasing a “double” of their own songs.
But Judge Failla wrote that the elements were too common to be protected by law.
“The court notes that a musical style, defined by the complainants as a pop with a disco sensation ” and a musical function, defined by the complainants to include` entertainment and dance ”, cannot be protected, “wrote the judge.
“It would otherwise be to completely grasp the subsequent development of music in this genre or to this end.”
By coincidence, the decision came on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the release of Levitation, initially as a piece of album on the award -winning album of Lipa, Future Nostalgia.
In a declaration of publication of the Billboard music industry, the lawyers of Brown and Linzer said that they had “respectfully disagreement” with the decision and would appeal.
The BBC contacted Dua Lipa for an answer.
