Manchester United’s legend, Rio Ferdinand, said Alejandro Garnacho should consider leaving the club if he helps Victor Osimhen to Old Trafford.
United is looking for a high quality striker this summer, and Osimhen, currently borrowed in Galatasaray from Napoli, is one of its main objectives.
Napoli had shown interest in Garnacho during the January transfer window, but Manchester United rejected his approach. Now, Ferdinand believes that an exchange of players could be the correct movement for both clubs.
Speaking in his podcast, Ferdinand said:
“I would like to see Garnacho play in the left wing in Napoli, with Osimhen moving to United.”
He explained that under a manager like Ruben Amorim, who may not depend largely on traditional extremes, Garnacho might not get the best of his talent in United.
“I like Garnacho. I really do it. But if Osimhen is available, United must bring it. It would come true,” Ferdinand added.
“And if I advised Garnacho, I would tell him to go to Napoli.”
Ferdinand’s comments show how highly qualifies Osimhen and suggests that United should make bold decisions to rebuild his attack next season.
