Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff said that he had not left the house for six months after his Top Gear accident, who left him physical and mental scars.
The TV presenter who became a cricket player suffered serious facial injuries and coasts in an accident while turning the BBC automobilization program in 2022.
Speaking on the Jonathan Ross show incident of ITV, Flintoff said that he had struggled with “paralyzed anxiety” following the accident and suffered from flashbacks and nightmares.
The interview, to be broadcast on Saturday, comes in front of a Disney + documentary which promises an “intimate and unprecedented look” on the Flintoff sports career and its return to the public after the accident.
“Then there are obviously the physical scars I have. But then the mental side,” he told Jonathan Ross.
“I did not leave the house for probably six or eight months. The only times I left the house were for medical appointments and surgeries,” he said.
The former versatile of England also revealed that he must have “about five or six goes to leave the room” and “chat with myself in the mirror” to help overcome his anxiety before returning to the world of cricket as a coach.
“I was not shown without anyone facial mask. It was like starting again.”
In a trailer published Thursday for the Disney + documentary of 90 minutes, Flintoff describes his “lively” memories of the accident and says that he can remember “everything that is there”.

Flintoff said that the shooting of the next documentary was “quite strange” at the start.
“Since the accident, has had flashbacks, nightmares and things … You talk about it, you’re talking about it a lot,” he said.
“I like to look at the cricket pieces, I would have liked there to be more. The most difficult game is to see people talking about you.”
He added: “I retired so long ago, it looks almost like a different life. Like looking from the outside.”
The Flintoff family, the creator of Gavin & Stacey, James Corden, and the actor Jack Whitehall also appear in the documentary trailer, which is broadcast from April 25.
One of the most successful crickets in England, Flintoff said that he “loved” his return to sports training in England Lions – the development team under the male cricket team of England.
“I think that with everything that has happened in recent years, this is the only place where I feel most comfortable,” he told Jonathan Ross.
“This time when I probably needed it, cricket still kissed me,” he said.
They returned to 47 -year -old television last year with a second series of his program by the BBC Freddie Flintoff in Dreams, who saw him take a team of young cricket players from his hometown of Preston during a tour in India a year after the Crash of the Superior Team.
The acclaimed series is in place for a BAFTA television price in the factual series category next month.
In 2023, the BBC “rested” the higher speed in the foreseeable future. A financial settlement has also been concluded with Flintoff.
