Gigabyte recently brought its latest QD-Oled game monitors in India. The company currently sells the FO32U2P and FO27Q3 variants in the country. As QD-Oled is a relatively recent technology, there are not many game monitors available in India who use it. We have obtained the FO27Q3 of Gigabyte for examination and it has a 27 -inch panel with impressive features such as the refresh rate at 360 Hz and AMD Freesync Premium Pro. The instructor is at the cost of RS. 86,999 in the country, which is certainly much more than what a fast IPS game instructor would cost.

While OLED panels offer many improvements compared to traditional IPS panels and are perfect for games, are they worth the high price and should you go to an OLED? Read the rest to discover it.

Gigabyte Aorus FO27Q3 Design

  • Dimensions (with support) – 610.3 x 532.5 x 158.6 mm
  • Dimensions (without support) – 610.3 x 356.4 x 57.2 mm

The game monitors must have a flair, this is the norm. The Aorus FO27Q3 certainly has it, thanks to its tilted edges, its brilliant accents, its little RGB lighting and its good quality of construction. The monitor is easy to assemble, and although most of the parts are made of plastic, everything seems premium.

The monitor obtains RGB lighting at the rear and two 5W speakers

At the front, you get a somewhat shiny panel with a thick chin and minimum high and lateral glasses, although the side glasses are considerably thicker than the top. The chin has an Aorus logo placed in the center. The buttons are placed on the underside of the logo, and you also get a multidirectional joystick to easily navigate in the OSD menu.

The joystick is multidirectional

By moving below, the base of the support has another Aorus Bird holographic logo. The base is wide and can take an office space. The support offers many adjustment options, including inclination, pivot, height and pivot at 90 degrees. You get a slit on the stand, which is supposed to be for cable management, but the power cable does not pass it.

Despite the cable slit, you cannot run the power cable through space

At the rear, you will find more inclined design elements and two upward speakers. There is also an Aorus RGB logo on the back, but it is not very brilliant. The rear also has a provision for a 100×100 mm VESA support. With the support included, the monitor weighs approximately 11.3 kg.

Gigabyte Aorus FO27Q3 Display and performance

  • 26.5 inch QD-Oled
  • QHD resolution (2560 × 1440)
  • 360 Hz refreshment rate

The QD-Oled panel on the Aorus FO27Q3 is manufactured by Samsung. It offers 2K resolution with 250 nominal brightness nits in SDR mode. The panel offers a 360 Hz refreshment rate and a claimed response time of 0.03 ms. It comes with certifications such as DisplayHdr True Black 400, Clearmr 13000 and Eyesfe 2.0. It also supports the 99% DCI-P3 color range and 10-bit depth.

The display can become shiny inside, but the coating is shiny

During my use, the panel offered a reproduction of bright colors and deep blacks in most cases. The contrast is also excellent, especially in darker scenes. Compared to my ordinary IPS monitor, I could see many more details in the shade. It’s great during the game, but it is also good for consuming content and a video / photo touch -up. The text is clear, but you will notice a smaller police force to appear pixeled.

In terms of brightness, the panel becomes fairly brilliant in low lighting conditions, especially in HDR modes. The HDR output is quite good but lack of details or of better quality in brighter scenes. If your room has a lot of lighting, you will notice a lot of reflections on the screen, and the brightness may not be adequate.

The instructor offers AMD Freesync Premium Pro

Thanks to the high refreshment rate of 360 Hz, the game on the instructor is extremely fun. There are almost no ghosts and everything is super responsive, especially when you play FPS or racing games. The movement is also much better and smoother compared to your IPS or standard monitors.

You also get support for AMD Freesync Premium PRO synchronization and Sync adaptive. Although you do not specifically obtain the NVIDIA G-SYNC support, this should work well thanks to the adaptive synchronization function. The angle of visualization on the screen is quite good and I did not notice any major difference in color reproduction during the visualization of an angle.

Gigabyte Aorus FO27Q3 Connectivity and features

  • USB Type-C support
  • OLED care supported by AI
  • Gigabyte control center

For connectivity, the Aorus FO27Q3 offers many options. All ports are hidden at the back, under the bump of the rear display. You get HDMI 2.1 HDMI ports, a DisplayPort 1.4, a Type-C USB port with DisplayPort Support and 18W power delivery, a Type-B USB port, USB Type-A 3.2 USB ports, a 3.5 mm headset and a 3.5 mm microphone port also. Although the USB Type-C port supports PD, it cannot charge a laptop.

The monitor supports the video output via USB Type-C

The multidirectional joystick on the monitor displays the OSD menu full of features and you can use the buttons to select the options. There are many options available on the instructor. You will find most image quality options, color customization, color temperature, gamma presets, PIP modes and more features in the menu. There is also a separate game assistance option that allows you to define the black equalizer, the super-resolution, the change of display modes, the timer and the crosshair, and activate / deactivate AMD Freesync Premium Pro.

The monitor is delivered with an OLED care function supported by AI

A resolution switching function allows you to define the visible area on the 24 inch and 1080p screen, which could be useful during the game. There is also a characteristic of OLED care supported by AI on the monitor which is supposed to reduce combustion problems, which is common in OLED panels. The monitor also has KVM, which allows you to control several devices with a single keyboard, monitor and mouse set.

Overall, the Aorus FO27Q3 offers many connectivity options as well as features that make it an excellent monitor for games.

Gigabyte Aorus FO27Q3 Verdict

Very well, it’s verdict time. The Gigabyte Aorus FO27Q3 is a very good QD-Oled instructor which is ideal for gaming enthusiasts. If you have a powerful play PC, you should probably think of investing in an OLED instructor because the visuals and the rapid refresh rate will make your gaming experience much better.

The instructor offers good vision angles

The monitor offers a bright color outlet, a 360 Hz quick refresh rate and an excellent contrast ratio. It also has a well thought out design which also seems well constructed, although there is not enough RGB. It is mainly intended for players, but can also be used by creation professionals. However, the price is a little stiff, and therefore I would only recommend it for those who are serious about the games or who have a lot of money.

Benefits:

  • Elegant design
  • Plethora of connectivity options
  • Bright colors
  • 360 Hz refreshment rate
  • Quick response time of 0.03 ms
