Gwyneth Paltrow said that she had turned to eat food that she previously limited, including sourdough bread, pasta and cheese, having followed a strict paleo diet for several years.
The American actress who has become of the United States awarded to the Oscars pleaded for the advantages of a range of different regimes while promoting her lifestyle activity.
Speaking on her latest Podcast Goop this week, she said: “I went to the hardcore macrobiotics for a while, it was an interesting chapter where I am obsessed with very, very healthy consumption.”
Paltrow said that she entered the “well-being and food” because of her father’s throat cancer, but has now expanded her food choices.
“Strict with this for so long”
A Paleo diet is based on the idea that if we eat as our old ancestors, we will be healthier and reduce our risk of certain diseases.
“I really deepened my connection with food and all the philosophy around macrobiotics, which is essentially exactly how they eat in the mountains of Japan, so very local, very seasonal,” she explained.
“Lots of fish, vegetables, rice, no dairy products, no sugar, etc.”
The star continued to admit that during this period, she “could have been a little didactic on this subject”. “I felt so good, I wanted to share this with my father, my friends and my family.”
She said that she had become “intoxicated by this idea” that if she and her relatives remained hydrated and ate “whole foods”, then “we could feel so much better”.
She added that she still feels the same thing today, to a certain extent, but that things had “become a little more complicated” because she had been old on “inflammation and health stuff”.
“This is the reason why Brad and I became Paleo a few years ago now, although I’m a little fed up, if I am honest,” she added, in reference to her husband Brad Falchuk, co-creator of the Glee television series.
“I start food and cheese bread to eat – there I said it. A little pasta after being strict with so long.
“But again, I think it’s a good model, right? Eating foods as whole and fresh as possible. I don’t think there is a doctor or a nutritionist who would refute this, it’s a good starting point.”
“Balanced and nutritious diet”
Priya Tew, specialist specializing in Dietitian in the United Kingdom And the media spokesperson for the British Dietetic Association, said that it was “great to hear” that Paltrow “added to his very restrictive diet”.
“It’s definitely a good thing,” she told the BBC.
“Carbohydrates are a vital part of our diet, providing fibers, B vitamins and energy. They are also essential for our intestinal microbiome and also bring a taste and pleasure to meals.
“It seems that Gwyneth is moving towards a more balanced and nutritious diet, given his field of influence, it is good to hear that it finds this more.”
She added: “Nutrition research shows us that the removal of whole food groups is not good for our overall health.
“We need diversity and variety to help us meet all our nutritional needs, bring the taste in diets and prevent boredom and also bring pleasure!”
After having moved widely from Hollywood lately to focus on health and well-being, Paltrow should make his big screen back in front of Timothee Chalamet in the next sports action film Marty Supreme.
She won the best actress Oscar in 1999 for playing in the drama of the Shakespeare in Love period, and also presented in sliding doors and a series of subsequent Marvel films.
