An Indian citizen has been stabbed to death in the Rockland area of Canada near Ottawa, said the Indian embassy in Canada on Saturday morning. According to the embassy, a suspect has been arrested.
While the incident details are expected, the embassy reported that they are providing all possible assistance to the victim’s family.
“We are deeply saddened by the tragic death of an Indian citizen in Rockland near Ottawa, due to stabbing. The police have declared that a suspect has been arrested. We are in close contact through a local community association to provide all possible assistance to the grieving relatives,” wrote the Indian embassy in Canada in an X post.

Local media reports suggested that a person died this morning in Clarence-Rockland and another was arrested. However, it is not yet clear if it is the same incident as the Indian embassy has referred to its publication.
The Provincial Police of Ontario warned Rockland residents to expect a greater police presence in the area, CBC News reported.
