IQOO finally upgraded its Z series with the launch of two new smartphones in India: IQOO Z9S Pro and IQOO Z9S. The two smartphones are responsible for an interesting set of features and specifications. The IQOO Z9S is supposed to compete in the prices segment of 20,000 RS, while the variant Pro will compete with people like Realme 13 Pro +, OnePlus Nord 4, nothing of phone more, and more. The IQOO Z9S Pro comes with a price of RS 24 999 for the RAM + RAM + 128 GB model, RS 26 999 for the RAM + 256 GB variant and RS 28 999 for the 12 GB RAM + 256 GB option.
The latest Iqoo model has a lot to offer. From the premium design language with improved cameras and decent characteristics, the pro model is the knight of Iqoo in a shiny armor. However, did he have enough arsenal to assume competition? Let’s discover in this in -depth review.
IQOO Z9S PRO DESIGN: Slim and elegant
- Dimensions – 163.72 x 75 x 7.49 mm
- Weight – 190g
- Colors – Orange marble and flamboyant luxury
The latest Iqoo device follows a similar design line as we have seen in the Neo series and its flagship series. The company finally made it more refined and premium for customers, which is good. The handset is available in two different finishes. The flamboyant orange is delivered with a leather finish on the rear panel, while Lux marble offers a glass finish with a few textures. Fortunately, I was lucky to use the two devices and in my opinion, the Lux marble seems premium compared to the leather option.
The smartphone is available in two different color options: orange with a leather finish and Lux marble with a glass finish.
Speaking of design aesthetics, the handset is currently one of the thinnest smartphones in this price segment with 7.49 mm. The curved display on the front offers an experience -free experience, and you will feel all the bright edges while holding it, which is unfortunately the case with curved smartphones.
Button investments could have been slightly better here because you need efforts to reach volume controls. The phone is also delivered with a certain screen protection, but it is not corning. The good thing here is that you get an IP64 note, which makes it dust and resistant to splash. Overall, the design language has certainly improved, and it is surely one of the most well -designed smartphones in the price segment of 30,000 RS.
IQOO Z9S PRO DISPLAY: Good for outdoor use
- Display – 6.77 inch Full HD + AMOLED curved display
- Refresh rate – screen refresh rate at 120 Hz
- Other features – 2160Hz Pwm Dimming, 100% P3 Color range, Scott Xensation Glass Protection, HDR10 +, 4,500 Nigs Peak Brightmness
Coming to the screen, the IQO Z9S Pro 5G is responsible for an curved amoled screen that offers a bezel -free experience. Being an curved display, the accidental keys are minimal, which is a common problem with these types of screens.
The IQOO Z9S Pro is responsible for an curved Amoled screen which offers vibrant colors.
The display offers net visuals and vibrant colors. The vision angles are great, and the outdoor visibility is also good, all thanks to the 4,500 naps of advanced brightness. You also get three different color modes to customize the display to your taste. These include the standard, the professional and the brilliant.
Professional colors have better saturation, while bright mode brings out the colors a little more than the norm. The handset is also responsible for a dynamic 120 Hz dynamic screening rate, which makes the whole experience of smooth scrolling.
The device also has a fingerprint sensor in the game, which is fast and reliable. The handset also wraps stereo speakers, which offer a good audio output. However, you can mount it at full volume, there is a little distortion.
IQOO Z9s Pro Software: Bloatware Heavy
- Software – Funtouch OS 14
- Version – Android 14
- Promised updates – 2 years of updates to the operating system and 3 years of security fixes
The user interface is frankly not the strongest suite for IQOO phones, and the same can be said of this device. You get the latest Android 14 operating system with the new Funtouchos 14 skin. The user interface offers good level customizations and a fluid experience, but there are a few cases where it is slightly late.
The handset offers two years of Android updates and three years of security correction.
The first is the amount of Bloatware present in the smartphone, although most of them can be deleted. The other culprits are hot games and hot applications, which offer announcements for different applications and games. And thirdly, you have the V-APPSTORE that spams you with notifications of new applications and games.
Unfortunately, there is no option to delete them, but you can always deactivate them to save you spam notifications. In addition, the company says it offers two years of operating system upgrades and three years of security fixes, while the competition provides at least three years of Android updates and four years of security fixes.
IQOO Z9s Pro Performance: value for money
- Processor – Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3
- Memory – Up to 12 GB
- Storage – up to 512 GB
One thing here, the company has done a good job with the price of the Iqoo Z9s Pro. It is currently one of the cheapest smartphones available on the market that is responsible for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor. All other phones offering this chipset are at the price of approximately Rs 30,000 to Rs 35,000.
The IQOO Z9S Pro offers a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor which offers good performance.
This instantly makes one of the best smartphones in its price range. The Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor is a capable chipset that can offer a good level of performance for daily use. Whether it is to scroll through the rolls or switch without thinking between different Slacks, Whatsapp and Chrome, you will not risk a problem with the device. I also compiled the benchmarks, which you can check below.

In terms of play, the handset is ready to take most of the heavy titles you launch. I played Call of Duty: Mobile on this device with very high graphic parameters and maximum image frequencies. During the game sessions, the phone did not stutter or late once. However, I noticed that it was slightly hot around the camera module, but it was not too alarming.
IQOO Z9S Pro cameras: First order
- Rear – Sony IMX882 50 megapixel sensor
- 16 megapixel sensor with f / 2.4 opening
The cameras are certainly one of the main strengths of the Iqoo Z9s Pro. The company has finally added pro-grade cameras to its Z series, which results in better performance. Overall, the cameras are reliable for all lighting conditions. During daylight, the photos became Crips and the dynamic range was also decent. The portraits captured from the IQOO Z9s Pro have also become good. Low light performance is also good and you get detailed plans. IQOO Z9S PRO BATTERY: Decent battery life
- Battery capacity – 5,500mAh
- Cabinized load – Fast load of 80W
- Load – 80W (included in the box)
The IQOO Z9S Pro has a huge 5500 mAh battery, which is even larger than the batteries found in the Nord 4 OnePlus, Motorola Edge 50, nothing of phone more, Honor 200, and more. This results in a better battery backup compared to other devices. With occasional to moderate use, you can easily get up to 2 days of battery life. With intensive use, which includes the search for episodes on streaming platforms, scrolling through rollers, checking Gmail, using Chrome to read items, and more, you always get a day full of battery.
The handset contains a 5,500 mAh battery and supports the fast load of 80 W.
The phone lasted 26 hours and 42 minutes in the HD battery loop test. The load speeds are also quite decent. With the 80W fast charger provided by the company, the phone billed 33% in 15 minutes, 57% in 30 minutes and 100% in 52 minutes.
IQOO Z9s Pro Verdict
The IQOO Z9S Pro offers a decent mixture of style, performance and features. The handset offers a premium design and a dynamic screen that offers good outdoor visibility. The battery life is impressive, just like the cameras. The performance is also good and you will not feel any disappointment in this section. However, it is delivered with its fair share of the drawbacks, and the Bloatware are one of the most boring. In addition, the number of Android upgrades seems to be lower than the competition.
Regarding competition, the IQOO Z9s Pro will go against the OnePlus Nord 4 (Review), Realme GT 6T (Review) Poco F6 (Review), Realme 13 Pro + (Review), Nothing of phone 2A (Revue), and more. That said, if you are looking for an elegant mid -range smartphone with powerful features and performance, consider the IQOO Z9s Pro.
