A medium weight fight between Joe Pyfer and Kelvin Gastelum was withdrawn from UFC’s fighting: Moreno vs. Erceg a few hours before the event began.
The organization announced on Saturday afternoon that Pyfer was taken from the confrontation “due to the disease” and that the fight was canceled.
The anticipated 185 -pound contest would have tested the rising Pyfer against a unique title challenge and a winner of The Ultimate Fighter.
“I just want to say that my heart is broken, I can’t fight today,” Pyfer wrote on social networks. “I got sick and I hope we can reprogram this fight for a few weeks from now on.”

Gastelum comes from a victory in the decision over Daniel Rodríguez last summer and was looking for his first streak of multiple victories in almost seven years. The 33-year-old has been at the UFC since 2013 and has a record of 13-9 in the promotion with a non-confusing.
Pyfer, 28, sought to build his first-round victory over Marc-Andre Barriault last June that improved his UFC record to 4-1 since he debuted in 2022.
The UFC has not yet commented if Pyfer vs. GASTELUM will reserve again in a future event.
