Laurence Fox denied having shared an intimate image of television star Narinder Kaur without her consent on social networks.
The actor who became a politician would have shared the “Upskirting” image of Kaur, a broadcaster that appears on Good Morning Britain and GB News, on X in April 2024.
Fox, 46, of Peldon in Essex, appeared before the Westminster magistrate court accused of two charges under the 2003 law on sexual offenses.
He was released on bail provided that he does not directly or indirectly contact the complainant.
Upskirting, taking photos of people under their clothes without their permission, has become a specific criminal offense in 2019.
The offenders found guilty of the APSKIRTING in front of two years in prison for having taken an image or a video under someone’s clothes to see their genitals or their underwear.
It is also contrary to the law to share photographs by other people taken by other people.
Metropolitan police said that the person who had taken Kaur’s original photo had not yet been identified.
Kaur has chosen to give up his right to anonymity, to whom victims of sexual offenses are automatically entitled as soon as they make an allegation.
Fox’s accusation on the alleged sharing of the image came after an investigation of one month.
Fox is accused in the first account of sharing a “photograph or a person’s film in an intimate state with the intention of provoking an alarm, distress or humiliation”, the second alleging that he had sent a “photograph or a film of genitals to cause an alarm, distress or humiliation”.
He will appear at Woolwich Crown runs for a preliminary hearing at the trial on May 23 after choosing to proceed to a trial before jury.
Fox has made his name as an actor in television shows like Inspector Spin-Off Lewis.
In recent years, he has repositioned himself as a right -wing commentator, activist and aspiring politician. He set up the recovery party and defended without success for the election of the mayor of London in 2021.
In 2023, Fox was dismissed by his role as a television presenter on GB News after a rant on an antenna on a journalist.
