Fisayo Dele-Bashiru went to the top in his battle of Super Eagles with Adelao Lookman when Lazio defeated Atalanta 1-0 in a tight game from the series to Sunday night.
Atalanta hoped to recover after its 1-0 defeat against Fiorentina last weekend. But instead, they suffered another narrow defeat, this time at home at the Gewiss stadium, and now they have fallen to third place at the League table.
Both Lookman and Dele-Bashiru began the game for their teams, but the first half was boring, since none of the sides could create clear opportunities.
The second half saw more action. Lazio took full advantage of an error in the defense of Atalanta. DelE-Bashiru reached the end of a loose ball and sent an intelligent heading to Gustav Isaksen, who ended calmly to score the only goal of the game.
Atalanta pressed for a draw, but Lazio defended himself well and clung to the final whistle.
