The Marc-Vivien Foé award was introduced in 2011 to honor the Cameroonian midfielder, who tragically died during a match in 2003. Nigerian stars Vincent Enyeha and Victor Osimhen have won the prize while playing for Lille.
Simon will expect to follow his steps and return the prestigious title to Nigeria.
