Easy car to forget, the old DB11 AMR. Not as powerful as the powerful DBS, not as agile as the lightest V8, and with the Lima green paint sometimes it applies a bit too liberally. But as a great Aston V12 to drive, it was fabulous, retaining the good modles of tour of the standard car and at the same time increase the commitment. From £ 80k now too. So, the appearance of a DB12 Aston Martin career is a very exciting development, mainly since the base car is already better classified than the old ’11. AMR’s lifting in a car as good as a DB12 promises a lot.
The power was never the main attraction of the old AMR, although given the DB11 it went from 600 HP to 639HP, there will probably be one more pinch for ’12. Especially given the tuneability of that 4.0 -liter V8 engine and the proximity of the smallest and most cheaper advantage in power bets (665 HP against 680 hp for a standard DB12). There is a great gap between that and the 835 HP will fill the AMR.
The chassis and the Aero will also be checked, as this prototype suggests. There is a more prominent front divisor, a driving height that looks a bit lower (although that could simply be the demands of driving on the track), plus a drastically different rear. Those who follow an AMR will not have difficulty saying it from a standard ’12 thanks to the new escape stuck vertically (almost as if it were a lexus f), a more bad diffuser and a vanquish -style boots tapa wing. There will be no shortage of AMR attitude.
Also take into account the presence of an AMR flying test, a model that is not available in the DB11 era. Presumably, there is enough confidence in the new fall (it is very, very good to drive) that can carry the AMR’s badge convincingly. With AMG SLS and Porsche 911 Cabrios increasingly serious, it would feel like a lost opportunity for a soft top not to join the DB12 AMR family. Wait to see both slowly from your costume later in the summer.
