Seoul:
North Korean leader Kim Jong a supervised suicide drone test with artificial intelligence (AI) technology and said that unmanned control and AI ability should be the main priorities in modern weapons development, state media reported Thursday.
Kim also inspected new improved recognition drones that are capable of detecting several tactical objectives and enemy activities on land and at sea, said KCNA state news agency.
“Kim Jong said that unmanned teams and artificial intelligence technology should be the main priorities in weapons modernization,” Kcna said.
He emphasized the importance of promoting a long -term concerted national program to be at the forefront of accelerating the competition of unmanned intelligent air vehicles (UAV) for military use, Kcna said.
North Korea has made a strong impulse to develop drones, including Kamikaze ammunition. It is suspected that the project is part of the growing military cooperation between the North and Russia during the past year.
It is believed that North Korean troops deployed in the Russian war against Ukraine were dedicated to drone war, obtaining a valuable experience on the battlefield.
