The Manager of the Nottingham Forest, Nuno Espirito Santo, has confirmed that the defender of the Super Eagles, Ola Aina, will lose his Premier League match against Everton due to an injury to the calf.
Aina, 28, had to receive help from the field during Forest’s 1-0 victory over Manchester United in the city. The injury occurred in the first half, and after the medical scanning, it was revealed that the former Chelsea and Fulham player had suffered a veal problem, although the club has not given a clear timeline for his return.
Speaking before the important game at home against Everton, Nuno gave an update on Aina’s condition:
“For this game, no, unfortunately not. For the next one, we hope. It will be evaluated day by day. I do not know how many hours it passes in the training field receiving treatment, so we are trying to recover it as soon as possible,” said the forest chief.
Aina’s absence is a blow to Forest, which is currently the third in the Premier League and press for a place in the UEFA Champions League next season.
The lesion adds to the growing list of Fitness Forest concerns, with Chris Wood, Anthony Elanga and Taiwo Awoniyi also doubtful for Everton’s clash.
“We are still evaluating them all … some little ones [injuries]Some are not so small, “said Nuno.” We miss all players when they are not available. Many are not playing in their usual positions, but we have to face. “
With only seven remaining games in the season, Forest expects Aina to return quickly to help them maintain their position near the top of the table.
