Pioneer is a brand established in the automotive accessories industry. The company has a variety of products, including stereos, speakers, subwoofers, amplifiers and more categories. The Pioneer VREC-H120SC is one of the compact edge cameras available on the market. You get a unique design, which certainly seems different from the rest of the products at a similar price. The front houses a 2 megapixel camera coupled with a speaker grille, while the rear has a pioneer badge. The right side has a red color power button with an LED indicator and a microphone to record audio. The left side has a microSD card location and a CC in the port.

- Extensible storage – up to 128 GB

The Pioneer VREC-H120SC can be checked using the Zenvue application. The application is available for download on Android and iOS platforms, which is a good thing. To couple it, you must first open the application and connect the Dashcam Wi-Fi network. Once finished, you need to drag the Micosd card niche. The camera then formed it automatically and you are ready to leave.
Dashcam can be used using the Zenvue application.
The application interface is quite basic and easy to use. You can see the live flow in the application, associated with certain registration options. Then there is the event page, which stores the video in the event of an emergency or an accident. In the Gallery section, you can check all the videos, photos and times recorded. The settings menu helps you activate different settings such as volume and sensor G settings, reset the device, modify SSID and password, activate / deactivate the parking mode, etc.
To come on the features, the Pioneer VREC-H120SC offers video recording up to 1290p. The camera is delivered with a 2 megapixel sensor with a 120 -degree FOV. It also comes with automatic record of events in an emergency, the optional parking mode, the support up to 128 GB of external storage, etc.
Pioneer VREC-H120SC Performance: Decent, Global
- Image sensor – 2 megapixels
- Recording – Up to 1296p Video Recording
On performance, the Pioneer VREC-H120SC works decently in daylight conditions. You get the option to choose from different resolution registration options, which you can change from the application only. I used the highest recording option during the examination period. I discovered that the performance was satisfactory, provided that the price range.

The video outing is decent in daylight, although the colors are a little washed. Essentially, you get a large field of vision captured in a video, which is useful. You can recognize the license plate of the car in front of you. However, if it is 10 meters or more, it becomes a little difficult to obtain information on the license plate.
Samples of low light Pioneer VREC-H120SC. (Press to develop)
Dashcam’s low light performance is passable. There is a slight drop in quality, which is acceptable given the price. The number of plates in the vehicle is recognizable in the beach mentioned above. That said, you can always get a lot of information from the video if the lighting is low. The right thing here is that the Dashcam also captures both audio and video, which can be useful in an emergency.
The Dashcam is also delivered with an optional parking mode, although for this mode, you must connect the on -board pip directly to the vehicle battery. Interestingly, there is another good functionality known as the automatic event recording.
The Dashcam uses the integrated G sensor to record the video in the event of an accident and record it in a separate folder to facilitate access to users. However, during the test period, I discovered that the sensitivity of the G sensor was raised in the lowest settings. So, if the car has crossed a puff nest or a circuit breaker, it automatically records this emergency video sometimes.
By downloading videos and photos, you need the Zenvue app for this. First you have to connect to the Dashcam Wi-Fi network, then manually download every video to your smartphone to share it, which can sometimes become a painful process.
Verdict Pioneer VREC-H120SC
The Pioneer VREC-H120SC Dashcam is a decent option, given the price. Dashcam can be available even at lower prices during sales, and I noticed that it could drop to around Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 3,500 during online sales. Thus, given this price, the entry -level Pioneer camera is surely one of the decent options you can get in this price segment.
Dashcam offers a compact design, which is relatively easy to install in your car. Video quality is decent to daylight, and low light performance is passable at this price. So if you are looking for a reliable dashboard camera without spending too much, you can consider this device.
