The Poco M7 Pro was launched in India in December as a mid -range budget offer and we were able to try it recently. It is surprising to see the value that modern smartphones offer at affordable prices, in particular under Rs. 15,000, which is the cost of the basic variant of this new Poco model. For this money, you get a large AMOLED screen with a 120 Hz refreshment rate, a 5,110 mAh battery, a competent mid -range chipset and a double rear camera configuration with a 50 megapixel primary sensor.
Poco is very competitive in the budget and mid -range segment while launching higher mid -range phones like the Poco X7 Pro. On paper, the M7 Pro also seems to be an excellent value for money, but how does it resist the use of the real world? Read the rest to discover it.
You get a 45W charger in the box next to a case and usual documents
The basic variant is at the price of RS. 14 999 and at 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. Meanwhile, the RAM 8 GB and the 256 GB storage option will come back to you by Rs. 16 999.
Poco M7 Pro Design
Poco M7 Pro has three color options – lavender gel, lunar dust and twilight at olive. We have received the lunar dust variant (8 GB of RAM + 256 GB of storage) for examination, which will surely attract your attention. The phone has a double tone design on the rear panel with a moon dust / sand wave covering half the rear. The other half has a matt finish. The combination is unique and, associated with the square camera module, gives the phone a premium appearance and sensation.
The phone obtains a double-speaker configuration
There is a Poco brand on the camera module and a 5G logo below. The camera module does not exceed too much and has curved edges, which is good. The rear panel and the frame, which also have a matt finish, are all plastic.
He has an IP64 note
The telephone weighs 190 grams, is decently light and is only 7.99 mm thick. He also obtains an IP64 note, which is an improvement compared to the IP52 of the M6 Pro. The volume switch and the power button are placed on the right side. You get a Type-C USB port, a microphone, a speaker and the SIM tray slot at the bottom. The top of the phone has a 3.5 mm headphone jack, a microphone, another speaker and an IR blaster.
The phone offers a 3.5 mm helmet socket as well as a blaster IR
By moving forward, there is a 6.67 -inch Amoled screen with thin glasses on the sides and a slightly thicker bezel at the bottom. Poco says the phone offers a 92%screen / body ratio.
The glasses on the screen are minimal
The display offers 2,100 nicks of pic brightness, a 120 Hz refreshment rate and a Full HD +resolution. Poco used Gorilla Glass 5 for protection.
POCO M7 PRO performance
The display of Poco M7 Pro is good to display the contents and play games. You get three color profiles to choose and the Dolby Vision and HDR10 +support. The phone also allows you to switch between the refresh rate of 60 Hz or 120 Hz or stick to the default adaptive mode. The 2,100 pic brightness nits result in excellent interior brightness, ensuring that you can read the screen even under direct sunlight.

The phone runs Android 14 with the hyperos skin of Xiaomi on top, and there is a cargo of preinstalled and Bloatware applications. Most of these applications can be uninstalled. Poco promises 2 years of updates to the operating system, which means that the phone will not get any operating system update after Android 16. Fortunately, the phone would obtain four years of security updates. User interface, scrolling and software navigation activities were smooth throughout the exam. I have never faced a major discrepancy with regard to regular use.
You get hyperos based on Android from the box
In terms of performance, the phone worked very well in daily use. The Poco M7 Pro is equipped with the ultra chipset of the Mediatek 7025 dimensity, associated with storage up to 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB UFS 2.2. It is not a particularly strong chipset, but it does very well with all kinds of daily tasks and even games. I have executed a few benchmarks on the phone and you can see the results below.

The phone also succeeded in the game. I ran BGMI and Asphalt 9 on the phone, and both worked well without any problems in the average settings. The tactile response was also good, and there was nothing to complain about.
You get a double-speaking configuration on the M7 Pro, and the sound quality is decent. The phone becomes noisy and there is no frizzy for high volumes, but it lacks hard -hitting. The quality of the call was good and I did not face any random calls. The release of the microphone and the earphone was also healthy.
The phone has a 20 megapixel selfie camera placed inside a hole hole cutting
By switching to cameras, Poco included a Sony Lyt-600 sensor of 50 megapixels at the rear with Ois and an f / 1.7 opening. There is a secondary depth sensor of 2 megapixels and a selfie camera of 20 megapixels at the front. The photo quality of the primary rear camera is quite good in daylight. There are good details, natural colors, a dynamic range and a white balance. He worked decently in low light conditions and managed to preserve certain details but with a higher noise.
From top to bottom: samples of the main rear camera (2), 2x zoom (2) (press to develop)
The 2x zoom and portraits shots were decent, with mainly precise skin tones and on -board detection. The selfies were good, with many details and natural skin tones, but only in daylight. Low light performance is not bad and usable when there is enough light.
Samples of low subsidiary: high (primary camera), bottom (zoom 2x) (press to develop)
As for the video, the phone offers 1080p 30FPS support from the main rear as well as the front camera. The video camera performance is decent, with good details and good colors. However, stabilization is not excellent when there is a heavy movement or a rapid panoramic. The front camera also does a good job in daylight.
Selfies come out well in daylight
Now let’s talk about the life of the battery and the load. The Poco M7 PRO contains a 5100 mAh battery, which supports a fast load of 45 W. You also get the charger in the box. In our HD video loop test, the phone managed to last around 18 hours. Meanwhile, a full load lasted about 1 hour and 10 minutes.
Poco M7 Pro Verdict
The Poco M7 Pro, for money, is a good value for money. He offers several upgrades on his predecessor and is a capable artist. The large AMOLED screen with a 120 Hz refreshment rate, a good primary rear camera and decent performance make it a higher competitor among other phones in the segment. Lowlight software and camera performance is probably the most boring things on the phone. Otherwise, it is a solid mid -range smartphone.
As for the alternatives, you can opt for the Motorola G64 (review), which offers slightly better and better software performance. There is also the IQOO Z9X (Review), which offers better performance or the Redmi Note 14 5G, which offers mainly similar specifications with a main rear camera of 108 megapixels and an ultraid sensor. However, the latter is also slightly more expensive.
