The French 2000 Guineas is on the Roncari agenda trained by Mikel Delangles after quickly finishing off and claiming the honors of group three in the Fontainebleau Prix.
Winner in his second and last youthful beginning in Chantilly in November, Colt Churchill faced a class promotion in his three -year debut, but accelerated intelligently so that Mickael Barzalona got up and beat Sahlan for a nose.
Delangles said: “I am very happy because it is not an easy horse, it can be quite interested. The rider really gets along with him and gave him a very good preparation career.
“We know how he behaves, but he is able to deal with that and even if he was a little interested, he managed to shine and accelerate to finish.
“It is a good lesson and a good preparation career for the big one in four weeks.”
Barzalona made him a triple of group Tres on the card and a four timer in general by directing the victory of Christophe Ferland in the victory in the Noailles Award.
Ferland said: “It is very good to win today. The horse was fit, but it will progress and is a very pleasant horse of a good family.
“The horse will make a mile and a half easily.”
